As my second piece of news, also Steam related, SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd have today announced that Total War: Shogun 2, will be available on Steam on February 22. The press release goes on to state:
SEGA and The Creative Assembly are proud to let gamers everywhere know that a demo for Total War: Shogun 2 will soon be available on Steam. The demo will allow all armchair samurai to test their skills in epic land battles and on Total War: Shogun 2’s gorgeous new campaign map. By pre-ordering the game through either Best Buy or GameStop, Total War fans will be able to enhance their Shogun 2 experiences with retail exclusive in-game content.
Sounds like a reasonable deal to me, although I’m not really a fan of these pre-order specials. What ever happened to a game being awesome, being enough to attract buyers?
Anyway, if you haven’t already seen the Cinematic Trailer (and why not?), hit the jump. It looks rather good and the plus side, there is not long to wait for release.

Oh, this is a demo I’ll be checking out. I haven’t played a Total War game since Rome and it seems time to get back into it. Thanks Lewis!
Ooh. Shiny. I need to catch up by playing Napoleon at some point, but I’m rather excited by this. Scaling back is exactly what they need to do to bring life back to Total War. Although I’d rather they abandon the (wonderful but outdated) structure of TW and make something.. new.
Something less historical, more.. Creative(assembly)?
