As those of you who frequent our forums know, we’ve been having problems with security recently. Last night, after a few weeks of silence, the hackers attacked again. This attack was more severe, with several administrator passwords compromised.

We have shut down the forums as a precaution, and they will remain so until further notice. All users, please check your passwords to make sure they are secure. The blog does not appear affected, but better safe than sorry.

We have a complete backup of the forums, so nothing has been lost. Stay tuned for more announcements.

God, I hate these people.  Your graphic says it perfectly.

Sorry for the hassle–it’s amazing how much one douchebag can bring down your day.

*Some*body needs to eat shit and die. I miss the forums!

  • Steerpike 01/28/2009

Language, miss! Language! We are a family site!

    for shame. SHAME!

  • Spike 01/28/2009

Not that I don’t think we, here, are hot stuff, but what kind of thrill could someone get from coming after us?

What would you mother say, hacker?

  • Steerpike 01/29/2009

If it makes you feel better, Spike, since we turned off the forums, we’ve gotten several comments from the hackers – MindTek and XpliCitt – begging us to pay attention to them. I have deleted such comments.

Apparently they’re such great hackers, it didn’t occur that we’d simply turn the forums off in the event of a breach. Doubtless their amazing capabilities as they transfer from “black hat” to “white hat” will be noticed, and they’ll turn out to be saviors of humanity, like the hot Australian girl in Transformers.

    Good luck, guys.

  • sennebec 01/29/2009

    sheesh…
    they’re begging for attention?
i think they are suffering from severe abandonment issues…
not to mention the obvious “little man’s syndrome”

    silly little motherhackers 😛

  • Steerpike 01/29/2009

Well, MindTek posted a truly eloquent response to this post –

“Shut up fat shit >.<" XpliCitt posted a rambling message explaining how he/she was doing this to help us, and offered a lengthy lecture on what we were doing wrong, security-wise. Apparently he/she/it is transmuting from Black Hat (asshole) to White Hat (self-righteous asshole), and the attack on our humble site was a way to practice good deeds. Or something like that. As I've said before, this is what they have in the absence of having ever spoken to a Real Girl.

There’s a program on TV with a regular character who is a computer expert.  She was a hacker, and when caught by the FBI was given the choice of jail, or an FBI job.  Well, what’s a hacker to do?  Now she is queen of all things tech.

So maybe our FFC hacker is angling for a job.  Wouldn’t that be a hoot?  The virtual pay is great, and there are no virtual taxes to pay.

You love us, you really love us!

  • Steerpike 01/29/2009

Even more delicious, we just got a comment – again, deleted – from ANOTHER hacker, advertising some MMO cheating site and promising that if we went there, we could mock Xplicitt more directly.

These hackers are so inept it’s hilarious.

“I hacked you! Please come to my site! Please!”

Seriously, dudes – Real Girl. They’re out there, even for you.

  • dashwood95 02/04/2009

Hi guys!  I’ve been mia a few days, and everything went to heck I see.

I’m glad to see everyone is still here.  Don’t let the hackers get you down.  Revenge is a dish best served cold.  🙂
