New Vegas is still a little more expensive than I was hoping for at £8.99 (the fucks wrong with me?) but.. yeah, I'm buying it. If I play it even half as much as I did Fallout 3 on PS3 then it'll have the biggest FUN TIMES PER MINUTES to cost ratio in my Steam list, behind only Football Manager.

I'm tempted to get Frozen Synapse on hype alone, although £9.49 is a higher fraction of my budget than I'm willing to commit, taking New Vegas into account. Also, does anyone know how well Doom 3 holds up?

Gregg, if you want evidence of being a changed man, you should see some of the work email transcripts between me and Lewis during the height of our Console vs PC days. I'd be embarrassed to read them now!

Hmm, Frozen Synapse comes as a double pack. Would anyone be interested in some sort of exchange deal? I wouldn't mind buying it if someone gifts me something else from the sale of equivalent value for one of the FS packs?

I broke.

Buying Honest Hearts DLC.

Alpha Protocol for $4.99. [Image Can Not Be Found] Mine at full price is yet to be played. But soon! When I get fluent on a 360 controller. Mouse & keyboard couldn't get me past the tutorial's first timed hacking.

Oh lord, that hacking minigame. Yap, I don't know if a controller will help at all. It's something we have to endure, like colonoscopies and the writing of Dan Brown. Eventually you get past it.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Thanks Yapette, that's about what I thought.

I have downloaded Honest Hearts but can't figure out how to start it. Do I do something with the data files? I have both the original game and Honest Hearts checked.

Edit....figured it out. I started up the game and got a message on my Pip Boy.

Do the people who run PSN and XBL realize how weak their digital distribution is compared to Steam? I never see sales on DLC I want, such as anything for Fallout 3 or New Vegas, which goes to explain why I've never played any DLC for either.

This whole free "welcome back" month of PS+ has been pretty underwhelming for me… I've downloaded Sonic 2 and Abe''s Exxodus for free, and of course the actual free welcome back games were a nice treat, but anything after that? It's been worthless.

If I were a man of 100-point scales I'd be giving something like 14%, 18%, and 88% to PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, respectively.

The last game I bought on XBL was Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light, and I suppose that was about September-ish last year. Nothing ever goes on sale on those two systems, and when it does it's pretty awful anyway. Oh boy, $3 off a $15 map pack for Call of Blops! That's $12 to bring my Blops multiplayer map total up to 14 from 11! I mean, sure, I could continue playing Half-Life and Unreal Tournament which have had literally thousands of free, inspired, community-built maps and mods, but why would I want that when I can get the sweet flavour of Modern Downloadable Rigidity?!

Ugh; the era of ultra high speed has its downsides.

That was a boring rant. Sorry. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Children of the Nile pack (I actually have the CD version sans expansion, but it's buried in one of three large storage bins. Why would I want to rummage around in those trying to find it when it's now conveniently sitting in my Steam library? I need professional help.) and Lume were my purchases today.

I did buy Trine as well as Honest Hearts. At $1.99, I couldn't resist.

Trine is a pretty decent game; you shouldn't be disappointed for that price, Pokey.

The feature where the Steam site associates your credit card number with your steam account so that you can purchase games without running downstairs to fetch your wallet is decidedly evil. I just hope some little hacker club doesn't crack the place.

Well, getting Bioshock 2 up and running reminded me how much I hate Windows Live. Fascist bastards. [Image Can Not Be Found] "Do you want to update Windows Live? If you answer yes, we will download 1/2 the update, hang, kick your ass out of the game, reboot your computer, set your dog on fire, and present you with the same choices next time you try to play, then force you to go off and manually find the update and install it separately, which, come to think of it, was what we used to do anyway.

I see what you meant, Gregg. You really have to dig through the pages to find the better sale items. I thought the HUGE sales (75% +) were exclusive to what was listed on the front page ... that was foolish. A lot of unlisted stuff too, which I guess is hinted at when one game says "Franchise Sale" on it, such as STALKER. I noticed Pripyat and Clear Sky are also only a couple of dollars. Nice for anyone who wants to grab Clear Sky on the cheap cheap and didn't already have it, since it doesn't seem to come in any of the STALKER bundles.

Deals on every page, so many, too many. I don't want to start buying them but I do... Clear Sky so cheap, will I ever play it? AI War too, less than $5 for all its DLC, hey Borderlands isn't bad either, sure I already have it on Xbox but maybe I want to play it with my Steam pals ... frak me. Holding off as best I can.

BioShock 2 represented my first experience with Games for Windows Live, but I never want to see it again. Ever. It's the most stupid, obnoxious system I've ever used. I'm using Steam, so why do I need to log in to GFWL for "features" I neither need or even know exist? I'm using Steam, a service which not only saves but cloud stores my save files so I can pick up my game on any system I log into. So why do I have to log in to GFWL to save my progress?

Just.. awful.

I recommend you all pour cat vomit or the noxious fluid of your choice through the top fans of your pc towers. It's so liberating staring at this Steam sale and not wanting any of it; because I can't play any of it. *heaves a relaxed sigh*

Damnit. Vague chance my computer might run Eufloria at an acceptable framerate. TEMPTATION STRIKES! D: *runs off to Terraria again*
