And it begins, again.

I wonder how many I'll actually play this time?

I'm safe for today.

Trying to focus my spending abit more this time, which is probably going to be easier as a lot of the games I want to buy are already sat in my backlog being neglected as it is.. *cough*

Would really like some nice reductions on Saints Row 3 and Sonic Generations. Other than that, hey, let's see what you got, Gabe..

Just Cause 2 to be played as a Wanderer in a sandbox. $4.99

I'm done unless Deus Ex: Human Revolution drops to a giveaway price or Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is practically free. (still have to play AC I & II)

Currently playing Star Wars: The Old Republic (mmo) which is oodles of fun. Even for them'ums who aren't fans of either SW or "space."

Yap, I want a full report on Star Wars. I may not play MMOs, but I have been known to live vicariously through others!

You'll love Just Cause 2. It's the perfect game for you!

Steerpike, it is possible to play MMOs as an anti-social, un-guilded, non-whispering chatbox-ignoring player.

That'd be me.

Outstanding: a) voice acting, b) class storylines (presentation) and c) plain ole fun playing class abilities.

For example Trooper's BFGs rule – especially when wielded by healers wearing heavy armor. Admittedly I'm not quite there yet. Have the weapon & armor & summoned robot self-healer. Later levels I can spec into healing others. Or dps, or even hybrid if I so choose. A BFG DPSing heavily armored healer. That is the SWTOR difference, traditional class stereotypes be damned.

Played a Jedi Consular & Sith Bounty Hunter in beta up until the minute the servers were closed. Loved 'em both & they will be re-born & joining me asap. In fact, the Consular is now lvl 6 and only reason I'm not playing her at the moment is the servers were shut down tonight at 6 pm cst for 5 hours while the game transitions from pre-order/early entry to official release at midnight. Then I'm logging back in!  [Image Can Not Be Found]

I nearly bought Recettear and the Max Payne games but asked myself 'Will I play them in the next 6 months and did I have any massive desire to check them out before the sale?'. They were swiftly removed from my basket. The Half-Life 1 Anthology was snapped up for £2.24 though. Always wanted to check it out again and see what Opposing Force and Blue Shift were all about.

Opposing Force is still the best expansion pack for any game, ever; you know, back from the time when things were called expansion packs and they had to put it on store shelves so it couldn't be a total piece of garbage, like most DLC. OpFor is better than most full length shooters from that era, and from today.

Blue Shift is forgettable, mostly because it never develops into something interesting, not because the gameplay that you get isn't good or anything like that.

p.s. Duke Nukem Forever is already $5 ... ahhhh good times.

As per above wish list, Deus Ex: Human Revolution + Tactical Enhancement & Explosive Mission DLC = $11 on Gamersgate. To be activated on Steam.

Almost but not quite making up for my first Android tablet the Asus Transformer Prime, pre-ordered within hours of that being possible, released on 12/19 but in such massively inadequate numbers that mine is currently back-ordered with a ship date optimistically promised mid Q1. I was looking at the Transformer a few weeks back. I will eventually need to replace my old laptop + will want a tablet thingie/e-reader gizmo and the Transformer looks to be filling that niche quite nicely. I am co-coveting along with Helmut. In fact, I propose we install a co-covet room in the silo where us pot washers and court jesters and straw house liver-inners can grouse about all the nice things our betters up in the toy room have. Though Helmut sounds like he is heading for the toy room.

Hey scout, look what I found in Steerpike's document on silo fealty...

"There will be a plastic pool in the want room, and a tap on the wall labelled 'covet-gravy', and those who are in a position of want shall be placed in the pool and enabled  to swim in the high viscosity gravy of unsatisfied envy with videos of said encounters placed on the YouTube servers with ad-revenue going to fund more toys for the more high up."

Sounds like you're going to want to have your toys sorted before going in.

Is it vegan, glutin-free envy gravy? Like was served at Thanksgiving? [Image Can Not Be Found]

[Image Can Not Be Found]  Nogg masters beware. When preparing nogg according to the recipe here, take note that in step 3 it said clearly, and in a language that I am fully equipped to understand:

3)... Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes, or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil.

I can say with authority that while we are constantly looking for 'thick' and 'rich' eggnogg, the line between thick and boiled is tenuous.

I cannot speak for all cultures, and perhaps for some a rheumy, clumpy, rummy  egg and milk chew with emetic qualities is the apex of holiday fun sharing, and for those, carry on. Our guests will be getting store-bought.  [Image Can Not Be Found]

So my head is aching from an apparent sinus infection (no fault of Hemutnogg) and  I am about to use a neti pot where you pour water into one nostril and it comes out...through the other one. The fun part is if you don't boil the water the chances are slim but present that you can contract a 99% fatal brain eating aemboa.

scout, treat that with some care.  Never assume your water supply is perfectly safe, especially since  a 5 minute boil is all it takes to be sure. Naturally, the only thing that's worse than serving your guests a clotted egg/milk/rum casein mix is having your brain turned into one by an amoeba. During dinner. With a nice Malbec.

edit: I can say with some authority that the rum/brandy/Irish Cream mix is very nice even on its own.  I did not commit any of this mix to the molten milk/egg fire until it was stable, so we lost nothing lost on this front. We're thinking of marketing the whole thing as kind of a baseball replacement to chewing tobacco, take a big gulp of this stuff and sorta strain it out between cheek and gum and it'll turn into one of those teeth guards you see so often on t.v.

Yeah, I boiled a teapot full of water for like 10 min. It's like inhaling water in the swimming pool but it worked. This morning I feel totally normal.

Wow, the Steam sale sure isn't capturing much screen time, even in its own thread. Maybe they have already blown their wad last year. I haven't even thought about buying a game on sale yet. I did pick up Witcher 2 for half price a few days before the sale and if it shows up for 9.99 I'm going to be pissed.
