BOOM!

Thanks Armand, Hanover, Meho and above all, Lakerz (you devil!) -- what a showdown. I salute you all.

TAP-REPEATEDLY STEAM HOLIDAY SALE CONTEST OF SHAME PLAY-BY-PLAY, WITH STEERPIKE & STEERPIKE

STEERPIKE: And in a thrilling upset, Lakerz swings ahead of the Serbian Slayer with a shocking 604.33RM.

STEERPIKE: I thought for sure Meho's cunning use of the Euro would dash any opponent against the rocks of humiliation.

STEERPIKE: Agreed. There's no exchange rate for Steam Holiday Sale Madness, though.

STEERPIKE: Boy, you sing it brother. Lakerz is now in the lead, Meho pushed back to a close second, with Hanover still hanging on by fingernails to third. We've got five hours and about 15 minutes for last minute entries. I can't believe it… if you thought the Rumble in the Jungle was exciting, it ain't got nothing on the Savagery in the Steam.

STEERPIKE: You said it, Steerpike.

I don't watch much sports on TV - a bit of golf now and again, and of course baseball.  But as I've read Steerpike's & Steerpike's commentary I've been hearing Howard Cosell.  Good one, "guys".

I think Lakerz's Party of Shame has commenced early, but hell, why not?

Lakerz, do you have anyone regulating your internet usage? If not, perhaps you should consider someone to. Just saying.

The contest is officially over! Let Lakerz's Party of Shame begin!

Lakerz: you know you can't play all those games when you're living in a cardboard box, right. Hey, Gabe Newell called, he wants his bandwidth back. "Kane's Wrath?" I'd worry about the wrath of Mrs. Lakerz if I were you. Hey, can anyone spot me a nickel for the parking meter? Not Lakerz

Mr. Scout, I salute your sense of humor sir!  This is an inside joke if I've ever heard one, hehehe.

Armand, what can I say?  Nope, no discretion at all.  I'm in the gutter, so called ghetto fabulous with my purchases.  My only excuse is I really enjoyed playing Bionic Commando as a 9 year old on the NES back in the day, and I also though Bionic Commando Rearmed was pretty decent.  So, hey, ignore those 50% metacritic ratings and try out the Bionic Commando remake!  yeah!

My man Mr. Finkbug, I don't hoard any animals at all because that would interfere with my video game hoarding don't ya know!  I tried having a few dogs in the house, but they kept tripping over my mint game boxes (and I can't have any of that of course)

Even if I was living a life of luxury in a mansion with no job needed and no fear of cardboard boxes on the hard streets of Los Angeles, there is little chance of me being able to play through all these games.  Especially one titled 'Kane's Wrath', hehehe.  I'm a sick puppy and only agreed to post my shame because I don't like not following up on promises.  Bionic Commando.....Kane's Wrath......what can I possibly say to avoid any more rotten fruit being thrown my way?!?  Absolutely nothing I think.  Luckily for me (or maybe not so), there is no Mrs. Lakerz to get my financial priorities straightened out.  I'm on my own so to speak, unless some lovely lady out there wants to co-op on an excitiing Bionic Commando playthrough in the near future?  🙂

Well that was a very short and unsatisfying Party of Shame, I must say. Lakerz, you have to friend me on Steam and PM me with what you'd like your real prize to be!

It was a heroic defense but we can still take him.

Those "mint" boxes he's flipping on ebay to pay the Steam bill smell like dog piss. I bought one and not only was the manual missing but there were small bones inside. I'm no expert but I'm guessing cat. Or human baby.

Sorry Finkbug for the smell.  The store lady promised me that a spriff of Febreeze on and inside each box would cover up any bad odors, but them bones be stinky.  I meant to take care of that little detail. <drat>

Armand, yeah I'm a born and bred Los Angelino (South Bay area).  I knew you were located in California but didn't know you are also in LA....hail to you also!

Steerpike, I'd be happy to friend you on Steam, but if possible I'd like to gift my prize to whoever it was that posted on this contest and had the lowest total spent.  It just makes no sense for me to get another game that I might finally get to playing in 2013 when someone else may be finishing up the last stages of their last unplayed game right as I type this.  Yep, I know that was the whole point of the contest...heap even more gluttonous shame upon the winner.  But really now, in good conscience you can't do that. GOD DAMMIT!

Lakerz, you always foil my schemes. Your utter humiliation was the goal of this contest, not some... some... thoughtful, altruistic deed borne of common sense and decency. Especially from someone who's selling human baby bones on eBay. Curse you!

The lowest number of Ringgits spent was 12.11RM, by Yapette. If you insist on this foolish course, I'll allow it, but now both of you will have to friend me on Steam because you can't re-gift a game I gift you. So the gift will come from me! Ha! She'll think I'm just being generous! She'll never even know you were part of it! HA HA!!!

Yap can lurk.

Yap can read.

Does this mean I'd have to play Steam games, like, not in offline mode? You mean, another player... Steerpike?...could actually "see" me?

Let's save this gift-game for another contest. A contest somewhere between the ease-of-entry in the Steam Holiday Sale and the only-experts-apply in the Picture-Guessing Contest. (which I don't even open due to personal unworthiness, but glancing up now, is that LOOM in the middle?)

Yap can defer.

(very gracious gesture, Lakerz….seeing as how you already bought almost every game on sale and the few that you didn't, you probably don't want. [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] Up_to_Something [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found])

Hey Yap, though you need to be online to download a game with Steam (okay, that's obvious, I know,) you can play the games offline. It's a simple click under the "steam" menu button, which is where you would usually see the "file" menu button on most windows based software. From the drop down, the second button is "go offline" which does what it says.  : )

Someone here at Tap made me aware of that in the first place.

Let us know if/when u get on Steam so we can all be buddies! I'm (as always) bluebogle on there.

Damn the power of the Great British Pound!!

Edit: ah, I thought Yap had spent roughly the same amount as me.

Seriously though, I've got an absolute butt-load of games as well which partly explains my distinct lack of purchasing over the Steam holiday sale.

However, if I get offered the free game I shall not refuse, it's against the Tenets of Thrift that I adhere to. "1. a) Thou shalt not refuse free things." You've been warned Steerpike.

Also, Lakerz, you're a gent. Even if you do sell human baby bones.

It was close, Gregg, but Yap spent the least. Now she's being difficult.

Someone's getting a game, and the game was meant to humiliate and not inspire. If Yap defers, the game goes to the second-place winner, who is Meho. Unless, of course, Lakerz changes his mind about this foolish course of action and accepts his total shame.
