After the horrors of the first few days things really did quiet down for the sale. I bought very little:

The Witcher Enhanced Edition $5.00

Men of War Gold $8.75

Twin Sector $2.50

Bully Scholarship Edition 3.75

Patrician IV $7.50

Total: $27.50

I should've gone for that Fallout 3 Complete Pack.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Steam only:

Bully Scholarship Edition $3.75

Holiday sale on GOG (all of which I have ditto on disk):

Outcast 4.19

Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within 4.19

Baldur's Gate II Complete 6.99

Arcanum 4.19

---->$3.75<----

or

$19.56 + 3.75 = $23.31

(math errors possible)

Wish I was online when Steam was selling the Blue Toad Murders for only $3.  I would have snapped up that deal in 3 mouse clicks.

After some thinking, I'm going to wuss out on the contest and not embarrass myself with how much money I gave to Valve to buy all of these games that I may (not) play.  Too much scorn lays down that road.  [Image Can Not Be Found]  Suffice to say however, that I do have a problem that I need to work on in 2011.  Not to mention that the last thing I need is yet another game to put on my 'to play' list.  Better to have somebody with a more modest pile of unplayed games to win that prize.

Oh come on Lakerz, you have to post your amount to make me feel okay enough to post mine. Mine is just plain embarrassing.

Greed Corp,
Space Rangers 2: Reboot
Tradewinds Caravans + Odyssey Pack
Westward Collection
Plants vs. Zombies
Lara Croft GOL
Saints Row 2 (ROW)
Dead Rising 2
Clones
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Super Meat Boy
Prince of Persia
Indie Future Pack
The Ball
Swords and Soldiers HD
Guardians of Graxia
Flight Control HD
Halflife 1 Anthology
Swarm Arena

[Image Can Not Be Found] total: $111.29

$36.57 of this was credit I had received from family (think gift card) so not sure if I count that or not. Games I was gonna buy one way or another, but didn't use my own money for exactly. Either way, you all can proceed to mock and ridicule me. I'm still hoping Lakerz puts up something comparable so as to share the shame. I'm not including my gog games here, which add up to $10-$15 I think.

Considering I picked up the Humble Bundle as well, I have enough games to last me through 2011.

Gentlemen, Ladies, do not feel that you have overspent.

As an example…let's take Hanover's Holiday List. The thing is, I already own most of those games, bought at higher prices. Even on my Shopping List, 4/5 are repeats!

For me, it was easy to abstain. Seeing as how most titles on sale that I'd actually play are already on my shelf. [Image Can Not Be Found]

(and if she dares, Toger might echo my situation)

So fellow Tappers, Buy On! Without Shame!

Yap speaks truely. The only reason I didn't spend more was I already owned most of the games on sale. Which should tell you something. Lakerz, you have to post your list. We're all addicts here. [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]

TAP-REPEATEDLY STEAM HOLIDAY SALE CONTEST OF SHAME PLAY-BY-PLAY, WITH STEERPIKE & STEERPIKE

STEERPIKE: Things are tight, people, a close contest. Hanover's in the lead right now with 345.99RM, just barely pulling ahead of Armand, who was clearly hungry for the big price, right Steerpike?

STEERPIKE: You said it, Steerpike. Looks like Armand had the drive, but couldn't quite pull the trigger on one of those $1.99 indie packs, which would have tipped him over the edge. Of course now the dark horse contender is Lakerz. Can this longtime visitor with the terrifying new avatar (presumably adopted in honor of Scout's dog search), possibly unseat the mighty Hanover?

STEERPIKE: Knowing that we can't start the party of shame until all entries are in and tabulated, by 5pm Eastern tomorrow, my palms are beginning to sweat. Lakerz has been hinting at some serious cash outlay during the contest of shame, but will his numbers measure up to his talk? A lot of athletes talk a big game, but out on the field they don't deliver the Ringitts. So Steerpike, in your opinion, what else should the audience be watching for?

STEERPIKE: Well, viewers, remember there's always Meho.

STEERPIKE: Meho, yes.

STEERPIKE: He may vanish for months at a time, but when he reappears it's often with great surprises. He's been trying to keep it under the radar during this Contest of Shame, but with that guy you never can tell. Plus there's the Euro angle to consider.

STEERPIKE: It's true! The Euro is worth approximately 4.10RM as of today, which would give him a significant leg up on Hanover if he's spent even 80% as much in pure numbers.

STEERPIKE: Well, folks, the polls have barely closed, so we're not ready to call a winner yet. We can only say...

STEERPIKE:...this has been one real nailbiter!

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

TAP-REPEATEDLY STEAM HOLIDAY SALE CONTEST OF SHAME PLAY-BY-PLAY, WITH STEERPIKE & STEERPIKE

STEERPIKE: HOLY COW!!!  Steerpike, tell me you saw that!

STEERPIKE: I did, Steerpike, and thank God I did. What a play! That was incredible! Hanover tries the stealth win – a risky move, demands nerves of steel and precision timing – with a seconds-to-go-on-the-clock purchase that brings him to a grand total of 366.84RM. I thought for sure we wouldn't see a total higher than that, and with Hanover's brilliant last minute play, he even bought himself some insurance.

STEERPIKE: And then, out of the BLUE, Meho comes off the sidelines with a shocking tally of €138.28 or an amazing $184.77 USD! That brings Meho's Ringgit total to… holy shit…

STEERPIKE: 566.05RM! I DON'T BELIEVE IT! WHAT A PLAY!

STEERPIKE: This changes the game, people. Meho's clever use of his currency's favorable Euro-to-Ringgit exchange rate didn't factor in. It is on. IT IS ON!!

STEERPIKE: With a full 25 hours left for players to enter their numbers, is it still anyone's game? Or has the Serbian Slayer crushed all before him??

STEERPIKE: Tune in next time to find out.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Mostly froze my finger over the purchase button or I'd've easily been up there. Deserve bonus shame for the Burnout which I thought would have more content than the version I'd already bought via Steam. It didn't.

Dec 21 Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box $5.00 US

Dec 24 Indie 2D Pack $4.99 US

Dec 26 Darksiders + Dead Rising 2 $29.98 US

Jan 2 Left 4 Dead 2 $6.80 US

______

$46.77 US

Another $36 for three Humble packs, one for me (already owned the games I wanted) and two as gifts.

So I guess all that adds up to ..... <sob> .... $197.11

If I had taken advantage of every best deal possible I think I could have saved maybe $20 or so.  Oh well, I suck.
