Scout, you know how the Bandits talk all potty-mouth? That's just how sweet Yap talks. Warms my heart everytime I listen to them curse & moan. [Image Can Not Be Found]
Players who know seem to equate Risen most to Night of the Raven (version of G2). I have that but played vanilla G2 through that endless Chap 1 – the one in the city. Gave up primarily due to cursoring menus & a painfully laborious process of saving/loading (necessary for my survival). Quit G3 early on as I wasn't having fun.
You didn't ask but I'll tell you. It's less easy to die in Harbor City (quest wise) so leveling up a tiny bit before facing stuff in the Swamp helps. I say a tiny bit as you want to avoid H.C. quests aligned with a faction till later.
I am in the tomb above the bandit's camp trying to get the second bust. After a long search, I am at a barred gate and can see the bust in the room but can't figure out how to get it. I tried spells and then looked for a switch, No luck so far. I just need this bust to get the armor piece. [Image Can Not Be Found]
There is a map in here, but you need to find it.
I remember now that the knockback in G3 was this bad. I finally got a bottomless fireball spell (in G3) that made combat much, much easier. Stand back and burn everything to bits. I'm finding that it pays off in the Swamp just to wade into the rats and vultures with my toothpick swinging. That puts the knockback on them. If I try to get tricky with the shield half the time I miss my timing and die.
I'm getting ready to do the arena fights. I took on one of the fighters earlier over an argument about moving crates and nearly beat him by blocking his blows. Human foes seem to be easier to block than the crazy animal attacks.
Now I'm approaching level 3. My inital affection for the bandits is gone. At this point I just see them as revenue prospects. [Image Can Not Be Found]
I just got pickpocket 1 and that is helping. I also took a skill in skinning animals as I remember that also paid off early in the Gothic games. I think pickpocket 2 is in my near future. So I noticed that you can only pickpocket a mark once, right? Can you browse thier pockets first though? I got my first peice of golden sword by pickpocketing the drunk on the little island near the camp.
I ventured past the farmer's “field” and further up above the swamp but saw what was waiting for me and turned tail and ran.
Did you meet the ogre up there? I am still trying to beat him. You don't get a peek before pickpocketing but you usually have time to find the best item. I only missed once. Of course you could save when you see the option to PP.
I finally saw how to get the bust. It was obvious from the tomb map if I had looked. I am currently playing run around the sarcophagus and then throw a fireball with an elite lizardman. He is too tough for an axe fight. I want to upgrade the fireball as soon as I can. I still have all 8 of my permanent strength potions unused.

Damnation! Could not find a statue in my very first temple (Plains Temple). For once I googled for help instead of reading pages of forums. Someone spent so many hours looking that he posted a video on YouTube. Bless him!
Now it's off to do tasks I was told to do before seaching but forgot. Hey, it was almost 3 am when I caught up to where I was before. Now with new content that had not triggered previously.
[Image Can Not Be Found]Pokey, I didn't get as far as the ogre. I saw what looked like some big warthogs and that was enough for me.
I just won the first arena battle but just barely. I'm almost to level 4 so I'll wait until I have a few more hit points. I think fighting in bare feet is probably part of the problem. All they have to do is stomp on my big toe. I am a wuss when it comes to toe-stubbing. That brings out the yap-cuss in me. *&%%$#**!!
Now that I have decided to brew healing and mana potions, the plants needed seem to be in short supply. I think I ate a lot of them, not realizing I'd need them. I don't think anyone sells plants. I've been running around and found a few, but I did find another hero's crown, so that is good. I better search out sellers of potions. The fireball spell uses them up fast. Problem is, I don't have a lot of money
I defeated the groups of lizardmen that were threatening the town. The tomb near Severin is up next. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I had to give up in disgust (@ myself) last night. Second priest's tomb by the bandits & I'm doing no better at finding the &^%$# statues. Have one…I think….need two. Spent forever going around in circles even with the map. Pokey after opening a grate I got one statue using (I'm having an Alzheimer's moment here, cannot remember the name) spell-that-moves-things but cannot find another. I see that Ashbeast down below/across the lava & a snail hole near it but can't find where to start the snail trip. Also didn't lower the drawbridge.
I'm going to pretend the game done & over at the end of Chapter 3 thus making it one of my all time favorites. This stinkin' chapter is ruining my fun factor. [Image Can Not Be Found] With god's help I will persevere till the end. Instead of fire I went with Magic Bullets – they keel Eleete Leezards dead. Now I'm mana drained most of the time plus Fred requires heal party spells to stay healthy. Even though I know, intellectually, I could buy a summon (another)Fred spell for the same 100g as using a heal party spell. He's my best bud & he deserves healing. [Image Can Not Be Found]
Pokey, I don't think plants respawn. Once you harvest the island, that's that. Even I who never ate a plant have insufficient plants to make the potions I want. In fact, ate little raw & sold nothing as so many unexpected items are part of recipes. Except I didn't (and still don't) know which ones.

Unbeknownst to me, pressing SPACEBAR while levitating causes the countdown to go very fast. Usually I move only to the middle of a trap before I fall. I had assumed spacebar would levitate me higher. Which it does. The trick is to first cover the distance (using the countdown) and only then, at the end, hit spacebar to move higher.
This far into the game I learn while searching for help with bandit's temple. Or the other connected one. Turns out I need to levitate whereas I thought the distance was too far to do so. Which it is when one is using a faulty method of levitation such as I (did) but now I might succeed. Might.
[Image Can Not Be Found]Yap, did you get the map from the column in the big room? There are two maps, one a map of the whole area and a more detailed one showing the snail hole. I didn't lower any drawbridge that I remember. I killed the ashbeast and then levitated over and the snail hole is right behind his body. It is on the map.
I'm not quite sure what you are saying about the snail hole. You see it but can't find where to start the trip?
Fred is very ineffective at this level. I tried and he died very quickly. The bezerk spell is good as is the ashbeast and firefall, but I am saving the last two for a more difficult spot. I used beserk to kill the lizard with the second bust. I use the fireball to get the elite lizard's health down and then use melee to finish them off since there seem to be quite a few health potions available.
It was funny when I went for the armor piece. I opened the door and thought I would race up, grab it and race out, only to find a lizard in an adjoining room had pulled a lever that lowered the door again.
I am doing well now with potions. I found some plants, but mainly sold a lot of stuff and bought my potions. Leonardo has a recipe for medium mana potions.
I am about to go through the door to the plains tomb.
Is there any way I can help you get through this tomb? If you fall through the trapdoor near the first bust, it is a short walk to get up above the ashbeast by the lava. No need for levitation there. Also, a speed scroll will let you jump over the spike trap and a snail scroll will get you by a flame trap.
Yes, I use the space bar near the end of levitation. Like turning on turbo power for a short burst.

I wondered the same thing about red door spells. We can't make them or buy them as far as I'm seen.
I finally levitated over to that ash beast, that is who I'd been watching from afar trying to get to by land. Then went back to the other part, into basement, drawbridge UP over my head. Couldn't use levitate as crystal on the wall was making it no-go. Ran back & forth, open & shutting same doors. FINALLY noticed the helm was suspended in the room I'd been in many times before (where unable to levitate). Grabbed it, gate closed making me a prisoner (who did that!) so teleported outa there - kazzam!
Now I'm in the temple behind the bandits, again with one of two statues. I am not an underground and/or dungeon player. I hate dark & dank. [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] Have to take a break as I'm spinning in circles.
My last will be the west coast temple.
So was there any reason to go below the temple? I had the armor and forgot there was a door with a pickaxe next to it. Lizards inside, so I left. If there is something good in there, I'll go back, but would rather not.
There is a lizard in a room next to the door who closes it on you. I should have teleported out like you did.
Not sure which tomb you are in but will look and maybe go there.

You're asking me?!?!? The Lost & Turned Around Queen of the Underground? ( 😉 )
Right now, as I sit here & type, I couldn't tell you what pieces I have & where I found them.
Well, I do know where I am currently. Not in what I was calling the bandit's temple which is the one up the hill, turn right at the ogre. This temple is where the Don sits. I have one of two statues & no idea where to look next as I did everything I could find. Already. [Image Can Not Be Found]
I am in the same temple. I have both busts and opened the door to the armor. Saw creatures inside and decided to take a break. For the second bust, look on the wall opposite the alters, where you can jump up on some rocks. Get as high as you can and you know what to do then…..fly.[Image Can Not Be Found]

Can you believe me when I say I've been trying. Both plain jumping & levitation. Over & over. I knew from way back when where I hoped to go. This is why I can't play platform games. Can't jump for sh*t. Even with levitation scrolls.
At this rate, it might be worth my time to learn how to edit a character using console commands - it's possible to temporarily lengthen scroll timings.
Are you on the highest spot right near the wall? I tried on the lower block that was more in front of the window and couldn't make it. From the higher one with a bit more angle, I made it by hitting the space key just before I got to the window
I tried a few more times. Try this: stand on the first block you jump up on and hit the forward key and then immediately the jump key and hold both of them down. It worked several times in a row.
Also, how high is your wisdom as it affects the flying time?
Later….the Shadow Lord in that room seems to be invincible. Need a plan. Tomorrow.

Lots of sellers have wine, I think even Patty. Does Eldric sell? (check your traders tab) Try shopkeepers like guy near Cutter, downstairs from the mage area in H.C. I usually buy some whenever I see it so always have plenty.
Wings, yep, used 'em once for alchemy (forget what they make) and never saw any again.
Using 3 levitations I finally made it. Gave up on the shadow lord when everything I tried was useless. Tried to lure him to the Don & his men (what a massacre that woulda been [Image Can Not Be Found]) but he turns back just outside the main room. Went onward to the western temple - ugh, what a tedious slug fest getting there. Currently standing inside in front of the blue door.
Reading forums showed me what to do re: Mr. S. Lord so I'll give it a go although I don't see how to get him strolling over while I'm standing at a button. While there I'll take time to practice jumping & levitating from the angled rock. I made it before only because I buggily hung in mid air, inside the wall & could activate another scroll. My WIS is 100s, maybe 130 or so. And because I'm such a crappy jumper, the acrobat +1 ring is always equipped. [Image Can Not Be Found]
Konrad had some wine. I checked everyone else, but no luck. I think I have enough now.
Luring the Shadow Lord to the Don's men doesn't work. They can't touch him. Even the ogre was backing off. I used a speed scroll so I could get to a button while he was still on the other side of the room. Worked first time, maybe luck.
This tomb is in the same area as the first one I did. Didn't notice it before. Some tough enemies as usual and I haven't made a lot of progress. There sure is a shortage of high safe spots.
We can't make any more levitation scrolls (no wings) and Illumar is out, so we better make them last. It took two to get in this tomb. I couldn't figure how to do it on one. I have 8 or 9 left.
Have you seen Casper lately? He was hiding in my room and I sent him out and haven't seen him since.
There are two lizard men near the cave by the monastery. One of them has a teleport stone. I have 10 now.
