Scout's half-way there!  I just don't know where 'pass' came from - aside from The 5th Elephant!

For the masochistic, here's a picture of the DOS version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.....an_dos.PNG

I swear that I will never ask such a hard question again, and apologise profusely for the asking of this one!

Never heard of it. It was fun making random guesses! The screenshot looks a lot the way the original MS Word screens looked, with the command keywords all lined up across the bottom.

The name of what language means "one who hopes" in the language itself?

Totally 5th Elephant. I knew if I threw out the Multi- part someone would figure it out from there. Not awfully surprised it was Jen.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm pretty sure I know this - Esperanto.

Please tell me I'm wrong.

I could tell you you're wrong, but that would be a lie. Esperanto is correct [Image Can Not Be Found]

Isn't that the language Rimmer speaks?  And that should be reason enough to never mention it again [Image Can Not Be Found]

Well done, xtal! It was Laika, a stray dog from Moscow who became the first dog in space, and also the first thing from earth to die there. She succumbed from overheating (one of the systems on her craft failed, allowing it to get excessively hot in there) after about four hours in orbit.

Ewwww...  What will the aliens think when their first encounter with Earth-based life is a barbequed dog?  Did they clean it up?

"Smells like barbequed dog..... oh Venkman.... I'm sorry... I forgot...."

I'll need to think up a craptastic question ... I never thought I'd actually answer something correctly.
