Jarrod is right! The Power of Love, the first 3-D movie shown to a real paying audience, on Sept. 27, 1922 at  the Ambassador Hotel. The actual movie has long ago been lost.

I know nothing about Twilight, but I do love Catherine Hardwicke and consider it a crime that they replaced her with the American Pie dude.

Catherine Harwicke wanted to take the franchise in a whole nother direction than Summit wanted to. She wanted to push it into something a thinking adult could enjoy. Summit wanted to make baby food.  The rest is history.

No offense to Twilight fans..but come on…

Summit makes probably the worst movies on the globe.

Definitely Nintendo... my Nintendoods friends love telling me about how Nintendo used to do weird shit in the 1800s/mid-1900s like some "love hotel" crap, and I've heard they made card games too.

Well at least they'll have something to fall back on when consoles go the way of the horse and buggy.  [Image Can Not Be Found]

McGyver (sp?)   I have 3 Swiss Army knives in different sizes.  I've always got one with me.  An incredibly useful tool.  And it can file fingernails too!

Thanks Jen.

With what  (How's that for wide open?)  is the flag below associated?  Ignore the black mouse-looking thing superimposed on the flag.

The Order of Theta?

j/k it's associated with Earth Day - the day when the First Gods came down to the planet in their Silver Eagle starship, and declared this rock as 'Earth', planting this flag and claiming lordship over it's neanderthals.

Or maybe the real Earth Day is something about raising awareness for the environment.

I like the first explanation more.

And now that I've answered, I should have just clicked on the flag and followed it's link...  damnit, all this hard researching for nothing... [Image Can Not Be Found]

You are correct, Jarrod.  Today is the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day celebration.

"According to Flags of the World, the Ecology Flag was created by cartoonist  Ron Cobb, published on November 7, 1969, in the Los Angeles Free Press, then placed in the public domain. The symbol is a combination of the letters "E" and "O" taken from the words "Environment" and "Organism," respectively. The flag is patterned after the United States' flag, with thirteen alternating-green-and-whites stripes. Its canton is green with a yellow theta. Later flags used either a theta, because of its historic use as a warning symbol, or the peace symbol. Theta would later become associated with Earth Day."  (From Wikipedia)

And because, unfortunately, the nut-jobs will always be among us, we have:

"April 22, 1970 was the 100th birthday of Vladimir Lenin. Time reported that some suspected the date was not a coincidence, but a clue that the event was "a Communist trick," and quoted a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution as saying, "Subversive elements plan to make American children live in an environment that is good for them."  (bold type mine)  J. Edgar Hoover, director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, may have found the Lenin connection intriguing; it was alleged the FBI conducted surveillance at the 1970 demonstrations."  (From Wikipedia)

Hoover and the DAR – a match made in heaven, in an alternative reality.
