So it turns out Nintendo consoles are rather popular. I know, pretty wacky right? After all, almost 90 million Wii consoles have been sold around the world and despite a troubled debut year the 3DS has shifted more units within eight months than the DS did in twelve.
But enough of those sales figures. Who are we, Nintendo shareholders? The real news is how many Miis are living on all those waggle and three dimensional consoles. The answer? 213.8 million worldwide according to Nintendo of Europe, making Mii Plaza the fifth most populated nation on the planet behind such less fictional and less freaky looking nations as China, India, USA and Indonesia. What’s less clear is how many of those are grumpy looking Chewbaccas or members of the Family Guy cast. I’ll guess half.
Of those 213.8 million Miis, 73.2 million find home in Europe, with Euro Mii Plaza boasting a greater population than the UK or France, and second only to Germany overall. Maybe we should ask if any of them know how to do a better job with our economy?
