From what I've heard, this particular dog was every bit as mean and cranky as the picture would imply, hahaha. I wish I had met it in person just to say "I was there"
The dogs I've had growing up were much nicer. Maybe one of these days I'll change the icon to my mom's papillon who just recently passed on. She was a really sweet dog (and much easier on the eyes).

Lakerz, every time I see your avatar I scream a little inside. I've seen pictures of that dog before, and as one person said to me, "if Satan had a dog, that would be it." We used to have a visitor named Croaker who used a terrifying frog as an avatar. That one always scared me too. : )
#7 is a sort of obscure Sega Genesis/Mega Drive title. For some reason I was a great fan of it.
Jakkar: link or it didn't happen. Wait…. did I type that out loud? SHIT
Lakerz: I saw a "special" on TV of the ugliest dogs in the world and that hideous creature was the winner. Though I scream, it warms my heart a little every time I see it, largely because I now associate it with you (no offense intended).

Yup, that's the Sega Genesis version of Shadowrun. Gregg missed #2, which I thought would be easy, and #3, which requires elaboration. And #1, which is right in the sense of the name but wrong in the sense of the movie title. Scout'll get it, or Fink.

Clear Sky?
Oh wait!
Shadow of Chernobyl?
It's difficult to elaborate when it's a Duty/Monolith soldier stood in front of a gate with a fire crackling away behind him and what looks like a caravan-shed-type-thing. Even more difficult to elaborate when you've only played the first game in the series...
I'm brutal with these.
I could have told you that #6 was a strogg, so Gregg's not that brilliant. Other than that ... ditto on #1, looks like OW. And #4 is obviously a game that inspired FF, or the other way around. I would've had no clue about the rest.
If being wrong's a crime I'm serving forever
I wish I could make an educated guess on *any* of these pics, but ....
#2 & #6 look vaguely familiar. Same with #5 I guess?
#1 makes me think of that Sega (or was it Atari) arcade game where you choose the monster you want to play as and then destroy the city landscape while the army and other groups try to stop you. You can climb the building and start smashing away.
There was a game called 'Rampage' that let you climb buildings and smash them...

1) Definitely Rampage, me and my brother loved that as kids
2) Outcast
3) Looks familiar.
4) I bet I've played it but I'll be damned if I can work it out -- EDIT: I haven't played it but it's Project I.G.I. 😉
5) It's not Civ, not Alpha Centauri, not Railroad Tycoon, not Caesar, not Pharoah… harumph.
6) Black & White
7) ?
