Seems I got 2 out 9 last time (Child of Eden and Alone in the Dark), other than Crysis 2 which I didn't recognise, I don't know any of the others!

This time...

1) Wordpress? Wii Sports? Some sort of friendly generic UI avatar?

2) Gah, I think I know this. SpaceChem on the C64?

3)

4) ?

5) ?

6) Come on Steerpike, that one was never going to get passed me

L4D (Death Toll!) 😉

7) ?

8) A dungeon crawler...

9) ?

I have a feeling that Steerpike will go nuclear on me if I say what #2 is. I'm too close to the source material. Too close, as in, I could get radiation sickness kind of close. So I'll just shutdown here and go fire up Valve's latest on Steam. I'm going to scram out of here, kids.

I played those stupid Swordquest games trying to get the fizzled Big Prize. Burned Christmas and birthday requests to get 'em.

Unrelated to anything in the thread, the "Sleepers" episode of the show Sanctuary is full of grand screnery chewing after a slow start. Can't recommend the series but when an outraged vampire Nikola Tesla says "You turned my symphony into rock and roll. Canadian rock and roll!" you've got AAA goofy viewing. Rewatched it last night and happily giggled the whole time. How do you take do you capture a vain vampire? Hit him with a car as he delivers his speech. Defenestration also works. Go go "de-vamper"!

  1. Skype's "Nobody" Icon (captured during a Skype call with MrLipid, who is definitely somebody)
  2. SCRAM: A Nuclear Reactor Simulator (in honor of Harbour Master's "Where We Came From" series)
  3. DEFCON (in honor of nuclear war)
  4. Grant Morrison's Batman: Gothic from Legends of the Dark Knight
  5. Debra Granik's Winter's Bone
  6. Left 4 Dead
  7. Spacewar!
  8. Phantasy Star
  9. Hollow Moon (an unfinished indie game powered by the Unreal engine – it was terrifying until the monsters showed up)

And there you go!

I should have seen the Skype avatar.

Okay, so what have we got this time?

1)

2) It looks like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again but… Metro 2033?

3)

4) This rings a bell…

5) …as does this.

6) Desura? Origin? Netflix? Some digital distribution channel I've never used?

7)

Jean de Florette (one of my favourite films alongside Manon des Sources)

8) Perfect Dark?

9)

Armadillo Run

#9 Is a fantastic toy cum game. Send the guy a couple bucks and buy it. Quite dangerous if you have OCD tendencies as I do. <blink> nine hours spent trying to shave off $1 and missed a wedding/funeral/coverage of zombie with ice cream cones tweeting from Nashua New Hampshire*.

*As far as I know zombies have yet to do so. If they have, I did miss it while trying to save the one damn dollar.

At last! I found the time to make a new banner. The old one...

  1. Ico
  2. Metro 2033
  3. Rage
  4. The Binding of Isaac
  5. A Mind Forever Voyaging
  6. Kindle Fire (Tap-Repeatedly wants one!)
  7. Claude Berri's Jean de Florette
  8. Appleseed
  9. Armadillo Run

It's getting harder and harder to come up with new ideas...

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

1. Persona 2 or 3?

2. Skyrim seems too obvious and too soon ... Oblivion?

3. Assassin's Creed 2

4. looks like a scene from BG&E but I'm probably wrong

5. ?

6. ?

7. ?

8. jeez that's obscure!

9. Alice: Madness Returns

If being wrong's a crime I'm serving forever

Has everyone given up on guessing the rest of the pics?  I'm at a loss personally.  Has Steerpike really bested us?

I'm overdue to make a new one, but since we're about to switch to a cool new theme I'm doing lots of under-the-hood work right now. Fear not, I will stump you all again!
