You may have heard of a game at IGF 2010; a game called Boryokudan Rue. We touched on it briefly last March. Well, that game is no longer called Boryokudan Rue; it now goes by the much more conversation-friendly title Gemini Rue. Aside from that it seems nothing else has changed: it remains a point and click adventure game for personal computers; part sci-fi, part steampunk, and part 1990s-adventure-gaming-halcyon-days nostalgia that is sure to appeal to fans of both Blade Runner and Beneath a Steel Sky alike. You can view the recently released trailer, among other things, on the game’s website.
Gemini Rue will be released on February 24 via digital distribution, as well as in a limited edition CD version that will be available only by pre-order through Wadjet Eye Games’ website. The pre-order will run you $25 while the regular digital copy will cost $15. ScummVM not required!

Aararhopgsle! Can’t wait for this!1
I’m a total sucker for gloomy dystopian sci-fi and to know that there’s a release date for this now easily pronounced adventure is a boon. Cheers Boone!
It’s great that the P&C adventure is getting a little resurgence. The format may not be for everyone, but its adherents have wandered in winter for far too long.
Ooo, this looks interesting… I may have to add it to the ever-increasing pile o’ games.
I’ve enjoyed the previous Dave Gilbert games I’ve played, so I know I’ll end up buying this game at some point. Looks good!
Visually it resembles a cross between BASS and Dave Gilbert’s Blackwell games. That’ll be a preorder then.
