Hatoful Boyfriend clearly proves that a woman and a bird can love.

It does, in so many disturbing ways.

Garrus is a fair selection. He has a very soothing voice, and you know going in that you're about to see a scaly bird person naked. Liara never did it for me; I find tentacles creepy.

My fear is that Tali will turn out to be a creature straight out of nightmare despite her cheery attitude and incredibly awesome Russian accent. What if she looks like the alien from Alien? I can't kiss that.

It's shallow, but maybe I should just stick with Kelly the Yeoman Who Killed All My Fish.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

If you really loved her, you wouldn't care about her outward (or in this case, under-ward) appearance... at least, that's what I've heard. You probably shouldn't listen to me 'cause I am a graphics whore.

I got Garrus in the sack my first go at ME2 as well. Though it felt too weird. And at the end of the day, my Shepard is married to her stoicism. No relationships to get in the way of saving the galaxy. If you pursue that relationship though, Garrus has some really funny dialogue.

My first go at Mass Effect I slept with Liara. Thankfully there's a "Load" option. Everyone has one they regret, right?

"Look at me, I'm blue, and sexy without technically having a sex, and I like rocks and I say a lot of things and I'm only 200 years o-"
"OH GOD SHUT THE FUCK UP, LIARA, I CAN'T TAKE YOUR BABBLING ANYMORE! IT WAS SYMPATHY SEX, OKAY?! I pitied you so I thought a bit of the old in-and-out might calm you down! Wrong! Now leave me alone!!"

I've temporarily abandoned Kingdoms of Amalur for Swordigo - side-scrolling 2.5D platformer/RPG strictly for iOS. In so many ways it reminds me of Zelda, it even uses some of the same tones for opening chests.

I'm juggling my time between Mass Effect 3 (hot hot devil lizard sex!) and Defender's Quest, an adorable tower defense game that's totally worth $6.99. You can get it here.

I need to plug in my PS3 tongue

In the meantime, I've jumped to playing Tales of Vesperia. Not having played any other Tales game, this is seriously fun! Except for all the random battles, but I'll live.

wow! 'journey' is beautiful and intriguing... i've been playing it for a couple of hours and don't want to put it down... i've only run into a couple of other players, though no one appears to want to hook up... we dash about and i soon lose track of where they went... i barely just got started and i already want to play it again 🙂

It is amazing. You will meet all kinds of players. On my first play, I met one who chirped and then ran off to do his own thing. Later, I met one who stayed with me even when I took a long time to get a symbol. It wasn't for long, somehow he disappeared. My best companion was the last one on my third play. We went all the way to the end of the game and it was a great experience. The game is so beautiful and the music is very nice. It is a place you want to revisit a lot.

I have infiltrated Shalebridge Cradle.  It appears deserted, although I hear strange noises that I cannot pinpoint.  This place reeks of death...or worse.  I hope that I find the answers I seek here.

Kieron Gillen did a great essay on Shalebridge Cradle - here (PDF).

Enjoy, Botch! Shalebridge Cradle scared the socks off me. More what isn't there than what is, though what is there is pretty terrifying. The whole thing reminded me a bit of the Brain Scorcher complex from STALKER, except scarier.

Thanks Steerpike.  I think I'll wait until I finish the level before reading.  I did take a peak and it looks interesting.

I went up to the attic and found...well, not what I expected.

Why didn't anyone tell me that combat in Witcher 2 doesn't pause when you're searching the quick menu for spells, traps, daggers(I suck at throwing daggers with any semblance of accuracy) etc?! The game's tutorial assessed my skills and chose "easy" difficulty. I really didn't need the tutorial to tell me that! tongue

I think I'll put this away until I've finished Tales of Vesperia...

I'm getting in touch with my DOS / Win 3.1 side of late. Currently up? NOIR: A Shadowy Thriller. Looking at The Dame Was Loaded.

I'm playing MtG: 2013 Duel of the Planeswalkers on the iPad, while I wait for my copy of Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition to arrive... All New Vegas DLC for under $30 - yes please!  Incidentally, I bought an old C64, and one of these nifty card readers from this nice gentleman in Italy - http://www.manosoft.it/?p=1&lang=en .  Much retro joy!

I've been thinking about getting Dark Souls lately (a thought further inflamed by the love shown to it here), but doubt I'd be able to give it the time it so obviously deserves.

Deep in the throes of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

What I like: wandering around 15th century Rome and scaling buildings for viewpoints. I can even locate places I visited last year!

What I hate: combat - Ezio will sometimes just stand there and get pummeled all the while I'm mashing buttons to get him to respond.

I am still playing Skyrim although I said a couple of months ago I was going to wrap it up.  I keep finding fun stuff to do and ways to get better.  And I have been entranced by trying the downloadable mods from Steam.   All the while I have a full Steam library of new and old games to play.

I am considering trying to move forward by picking a game like Deus Ex Human Revolution to download and start and just keep Skyrim as my fallback, comfortable place to retreat to now and then.  Or doing a new game and an old game (like one of the Thief games) and have a selection to turn to whenever I feel like playing a game.

The one thing I am sure of is:   I am not going to finish Skyrim anytime soon since it is such nice place to be.

MrLipid,  I loved Noir: A Shadowy Thriller.  Just the title made me want to play it.  And it took me forever to find a copy and when I did,  loved it.   It was a pretty good game and a great tribute to the early Noir movies.  I sold mine long ago since I could no longer play it on the computers I have had.   But I think of it fondly.   It would be great if it came out on GOG but I doubt that it is on their radar since it didn't get much attention.
