The demo will give you a good feel for the game but just beyond it lies the open world which, admittedly wouldn't be fit for a demo, but is pretty much the beating heart of the game for me -- it's a real spectacle. If you do play the demo, look out for one of the band members doing Raz's victory dance from Psychonauts.
Toger, I tried to go into xtranormal to make you a movie, but they've changed the site so you can't make anything at all for free anymore. [Image Can Not Be Found] So the best I can offer is a vid I made when Steerpike ditched the PC for a console.
I am sorry.

I can't see how that place stays in biz. They went through an ipo, but who would pay for that product? Ah, I guess the

I'm afraid I'm going to have to claim victory in Dark Space 2. I didn't actually finish to the credits, but like the first one, I went as far as a rational person would before throwing in the towel. Final Boss monster battle, check. Also, I felt so dirty after signing up for an EA account to satisfy their DRM that I'm claiming some additional credit.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (which puts me at -5 for the Log o' Shame)
Adventure-y DS title that reminded me of Phoenix Wright due to some of the over-the-top crazy characters - chief detective who wears an all-white leisure suit under a long white trench coat and dances into/out of crime scenes; prison guard who flails (dances) about when he's nervous. The final reveal was crazy and nonsensical but I had fun playing it.

I finally finished The Witcher 2, at least Iovarth's path, but I did see the credits roll. First time since I finished Fallout: New Vegas that I've actually completed a game. I thought it was really compelling, one of the best games I've played in years. Very few hold my interest all the way through anymore. I'll have to hunt up the save where the game splits and take the other path, the one where the Witcher sides with Roche. The Enhanced version is coming out soon so I just might wait.
In the meantime, here is a trailer for The Witcher 2, Enhanced Edition for XBox. Rumors are it will also be coming to PC as well. I sincerely hope so.
I'm awaiting the 360 version of Witcher2 since my desktop hasn't a prayer of playing the PC version - well, that's not entirely true. Aside from the video card, my rig can handle it, but being able to sit in the comfy chair and watch it on my largish HD TV makes me all gooey inside.

Scout for the win! I'm glad you liked Witcher 2. Not having played the first I wasn't sure what differences there might be, but you're a series stalwart.
Toger, they seem so committed to doing the console port "right" (versus just shoving it onto a DVD and calling it a day), I think you'll be pleased with your 360 decision. It seems to suit the way you like to play, and I suspect they will improve the small text and somewhat... iffy interface. It's a great, deep RPG. With boobs!

Steerpike, granted it has all kinds of technical annoyances but I loved how the decisions you make are not all Good/Evil but muddy and emotional and sometimes irrational and you never know the whole story and can't know the whole story. It forced me to go with my instinct and not just min-max it, though I did some grinding in the second chapter. Also I found TWO madness mutagens within an hour farming harpies. I guess some people don't get one in three play throughs so that was tons of fun and made Geralt pretty beefy earlier on. Now that I know how to play the interface and what the boss patterns are like I can't wait to play the Enhanced Edition.
I hear they are really working hard on the port to XBox.
I finished it this morning and have thought about nothing all day but "what-if" and "I wonder what would have happened?" I didn't know but there are over a dozen possible endings depending on the branching you follow.
In the end I felt like the wrath of the gods but not in a cheesy kill everything way, but for something I really wanted. That was what impressed me with the first one too. I gave a fuck, not just hopping around in pretty landscapes though, admittedly, it's a gorgeous, gorgeous game.
CDP really hit this one out of the park.
I agree, Scout, aside from the menu system and smallish text there was nothing to dislike about TW2. It was stunning to look at and had a great different-from-usual RPG flavor to it. After playing I read some of the novels on which it was based and understood the world and lore a bit better. Definitely a good investment for anyone who wants a fantastic RPG experience.
