Okay, so the forums have been down for a while. But fear not! Behind the scenes, it’s been a flurry of activity. Here’s the update.

YAY! I’ve been looking exactly like Bill the Cat without daily infusions of weird FFC forum…ness. No other forum understands my madness – okay, it’s not understood anywhere, but FFC barely raises an eyebrow.
Toger beat me; she posted my reaction: YAY!YAY!
Does this mean if 8 years content cannot be migrated over that we can post thread upon thread of inane drivel* in order to build content back up?
* Naturally, that’d be Quality Drivel, of the FFC variety. Or whomever we might be by then, retaining our High Standards of Us-ness.
Glad to see the update. I’ve been seriously missing the forum and sorry that older content may be lost, especially the threads in Bullocks.
Is there any possibility of keeping some selected archives. The rare adventure game thread was an all time classic. And I agree with Pokey, losing Bullocks would be pretty bad.
Hooray for our side!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved FFC – even for a couple of years when I only lurked. But I’ve been surprised at just how much I’ve missed the forums. It will be good to see them return in any form. I realized the depth of my love (ack, barf) when I realized that I can tell who among the regulars is responsible for any given post, even when said post has no explicit identifiers in it.
Now, let’s all give me a good swift kick for being an idiot. Some time ago, after one of the hackings, it was suggested that we change our passwords. Well, I’m a fan of security, so I did (the smart part), but I didn’t make note of what I changed (the dumb-ass part). Did I change both my screen name (don’t think so) and password (think so)? I tried to sign in and was turned away at the door! Is there an FFC wizard who can help? If not, I’ll register again, ’cause an asshole hacker ain’t gonna keep me away.
The blog system login is case-sensitive, Spike, so it’s possible that you just used a cap when you should have used lowercase, or vice versa. Try some other combinations and see if they work. If you still run into trouble, email me and I can reset your username and password.
