For those trapped at office jobs with unfettered internet access and a good set of headphones, you can stop your work now and trundle on over to this site, where you’ll find one of the more fascinating and beautiful rhythm games I’ve seen in a long time… like Rez, but dreamier. Seriously. Auditorium will entrance even the curmudgeonliest among us, and promises hours of unproductive leisure. It’s also a pretty amazing example of what a talented Flash programmer with lots of spare time can accomplish.

Very fun. I did Fall, Winter and half of Spring before calling it quits. I liked how you could just play with the tones and compose crude tunes when you were stuck and trying different options to solve the puzzle.
This games elegance, purity, and addictive gameplay remind me of Portal, so much, in fact, that many of my small-minded friends will call it “just another puzzle game.”
I love it. I even donated some funds to help them finish the thing. I’d probably spend $15 to $20 for a finished product.
Even my beloved wife–a casual “match the pretty colors” gamer through-and-through–loved the game and stayed up past her bedtime to play it.

So true, Dobralov. I was thinking of Portal as well. Auditorium has a beauty that’s hard to describe – something about the flow of colors and the music make it enchanting and hypnotic. It’s really the kind of odd internet discovery that gives you faith in the whole games business. It’s not all space marines after all.
