Hello all, we seem to be having some kind of problem with the system that tests to see if you’re human when you post to the forums and comments. Either many of you have recently stopped being human or the technology has failed us (maybe it’s jealous that it’s not human, I don’t know). In any case, legions of eager Tap-Repeatedly interns are burrowing through miles of code even now to find and eliminate the problem. You’re killing us, Steerpike! All Pokey, Botch and I (and perhaps Gregg if he pulls his head out of his arse) want to do is blab about Dark Souls!
I was really starting to like that CAPTCHA system. Every time I posted it was like a mini-game with myself: which icon will I have to drag into the circle today? (I’m being serious – it’s fun and simple!) So if you have to change it to something else … well let’s not lose all hope just yet.
The strange thing is that you guys shouldn’t even have to do the CAPTCHA any more. I mean, talk about long-term members. But the system seems rather arbitrary about who it CAPTCHAs and who it doesn’t. So the CAPTCHA system is simply not displaying? We’re on it, stay tuned.
Maybe this is actually Dark Souls related. Like, the game’s not just hard, it’s meta-hard. It’s making it hard for you to even talk about it.
Speaking of gremlins, I watched “Gremlins 2” again over the holiday weekend. It’s an underrated film. It’s not strong throughout, but has some great moments, in particular, poking fun at itself. There is a “Brain” Gremlin in it – a bunch of gremlins get into a genetics lab. The Brain gremlin always reminds me a bit of Steerpike for some reason.
For me, Steerpike, yes, the CAPTCHA doesn’t even display. So I write a post, hit post reply, and then it just gives the error that I didn’t do the CAPTCHA.
And there is SOOOO much to talk about in Dark Souls. My PvP record is like, 4-50. People must see “xtal84 has invaded your world” and be like “HAHA FREE SOULZ ARE TEH BEST!”
I suck so bad at PvP. And seriously 9 out of 10 people just try to circle around you and use the lag/backstab exploit. It angers me so much… I’m just going to get the final souvenir of reprisal I need to rank up in the Darkmoon covenant to get the miracle reward and then quit the damn thing; go back to a co-op friendly covenant. There needs to be a button on the PS3 controller that allows you to, in one press, send a message to someone over PSN saying “faaaack you.”
Okay, two things:
1) I’ve deactivated the CAPTCHA plugin for the forum. Hopefully you guys’ll be able to post now (PM me if you still can’t). We may get some spam as a result, but that’s a small enough thing to manage until we can get the actual problem identified and sorted out.
2) I haven’t seen Gremlins 2 in years but the fact that I “remind” Ajax19 of the Brain Gremlin concerns me. This is the same man who associates me with the Honey Badger narrator, so I doubt the Brain Gremlin is particularly awesome. Let’s try not to forget, when choosing sides, that Ajax19 doesn’t like Dark Souls and I do.
The CAPTCHA plug-in sort of appeared for me about two weeks ago. Then two days ago I couldn’t even post in the forum. Would just get an error message that CAPTCHA wasn’t working. Now I’m having trouble getting the quote function to work properly. I hit quote on a post and it appears in my reply but I can’t type text outside of the quote box.
Okay, two things:
1) I do not associate Steerpike with the Honey Badger narrator. I said that he sounded like the Honey Badger narrator one time. In fact, it was just one word. Not even a word. A shout of disgust. That’s it.

Aw man! Nobody told me we were talking about Dark Souls here! Late to the party again.
I don’t get the draggy icon thing anymore, just the math question. And not two questions, just one. If I were a spam-bot I’d be all like, “Too easy!”
