It has been a busy few hours over on the ArenaNet blog, as the first details of Guild Wars 2’s underwater combat have begun to surface (sorry), as well as some details of the game’s dungeons. Unlike other MMOGs, it seems ArenaNet want the underwater elements of Guild Wars 2 be as prominent as that above, so have introduced specific weapons that can only be used underwater, such as spears, tridents and harpoon guns, with each weapon having its on set of skills appear the moment you submerge. What is even more interesting is the introduction of breathing apparatus which removes the necessity for players to travel to the surface to breathe.
Today is also a special day for some members of the Guild Wars 2 community (including our very own Zach ‘Ravious’ Best!) who have been given the opportunity to visit ArenaNet’s new offices in Seattle to meet the staff and get a hands on with Guild Wars 2. You can follow their day on the official ArenaNet or Guild Wars 2 Guru’s twitter feed for some fantastic new images and information. Be warned though, the traffic to such feeds and image links is causing gremlins in the system!
Finally, hit this link for some stunning new screenshots of the dungeons and underwater combat, or hit the jump for an exclusive video of the underwater combat narrated by Jon Peters, who we interviewed not so long ago.

I just can’t find any footage of guild wars 2 that isn’t so old the graphics or bad or is just of a trailer.. It just seems incredibly dull next to all the MMO’s ive ever dealt with. I’m sure it will get polished a bit more.
