If you’ve spent any time hanging out with the FFC regulars, you’ll have noticed that several of us are deeply attracted to weird (Chulip), obscure (The Fifth Disciple) and niche (Chibi-Robi) games; for us, the stranger the better. So, it should come as no surprise to hear that I’m all atwitter for Lux-Pain, Killaware’s debut game for the Nintendo DS.
Historical Kisaragi City is plagued by “Silent”, a worm born of hate and sadness. The Silent infection causes its victims to commit vicious crimes. To avenge his parents, themselves victims of such crimes, Atsuki acquires Lux-Pain, the only thing powerful enough to stop Silent, forever.
You can find more information about Lux-Pain on the game’s site along with the requisite trailer, screenshots, Gregorian-like chanting, and a Nintendo Power preview. Lux-Pain is slated for a US release in March 2009.
Did I mention that Killaware was started by a couple of Atlus ex-pats? We heart Atlus.
Honestly, Toger, where you guys find these intriguing DS games is well beyond me. I still haven’t finished (i.e., barely started) Chrono Trigger. I never even got Days of Ruin. You’re killing me here!
Oh, but there’s so much more to talk about. My plan is to dole out tiny morsels of upcoming DS goodness.
Don’t feel too badly about barely starting Chrono Trigger. The only thing I’ve done with it is separate the music CD from the clam shell. I’m easily distracted *cough*Galactrix*cough*
Oooh… this looks… awesome!!!
