I'm currently working my way through Body Harvest for the Nintendo 64. I've played through before on the easy difficulty, but to complete the full game you have to do it on "Hero" difficulty.
All I can say is that I do not feel like a hero when playing it. I'm battling my way through hordes of aliens that have invaded 1960s Nevada, USA. It plays like a very early/awkward version of GTA III, and you can attack from vehicles so as to preserve health, but the damn aliens can destroy a car in two shots. That and they're gunning down every human in sight, and if you lose too many civilians, it's game over. Uber frustrating but there's a great sense of desperation when you play.
That and it requires serious map navigation skills. HD resolutions would come in really handy in that regard!
Seriously everyone, go and play what Armand recommended. RIGHT NOW. Then read this after. There are some things you should not question, this is one of those things.
OT: I've been playing a lot of co-op Magicka recently with Luke, Armand and his friend Mike. It's as buggy as hell but it's a lot of fun.
I bought Tron Evolution for $20 brand new on a sale. It's worth $20, I'll give it that. It's missing a lot of features you'd expect (especially any customisation features). The multiplayer is light, but a bit of fun, and I think the game looks good.
I see that EB Games also have Star Ocean on the PS3 for $25, which is tempting. A lot of other games are 50% off at the moment, although many are still out of the range of what I'd like to spend.

I just finished playing Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure, a game made by a five year old girl (and her dad). It's very short and I would strongly recommend everyone try it. It will force you to grin throughout the whole thing!
grooowrrrr! [menace menace] rrrrowwwr!
Put aside LA Noire for the nonce as it was no longer lighting a fire under me. I'll probably go back to it at some point; (currently on the Homicide desk) especially since I downloaded all the current DLC. [Image Can Not Be Found]
Instead, I'm bashing things in Venetica playing Death's daughter, Scarlett. It's not the prettiest RPG/Action/Adventure (or whatever it thinks it is) but at the moment, it's more fun than playing Dragnet... er, LA Noire.

I loved Venetica! Five minutes after meeting Scarlett, I was hooked. Unlike many titles of greater renown, I played straight through without a break (of weeks, months, sometimes even years [Image Can Not Be Found]). Why must some games feel like such a chore to play? Venetica was froth & drivel instead of taking itself too seriously.
And look at what I found below --> [Image Can Not Be Found]
I just finished Torchlight. It was fun, but that was some tough end boss. Lucky I was playing on easy.[Image Can Not Be Found]
At the end, my dog was summoning up a bunch of skeleton archers. I don't know how much they helped, but I enjoyed it. The Titan Stomp was very effective in wiping out the crowds when they surrounded me.
I think I will pick up Baldur's Gate 2 again. Been a long time since I played and not sure where I am. Portal 2 is beckoning too. There should be a big Steam sale coming up soon and I have my eye on a couple others, including Drakensang 2.

Ditto, Togs. It feels like I have to try much harder to get interested in any game lately. I've also tried on separate occasions to get into the PS2 game Odin Sphere ... can't do it. Lethargy. Ugh. Haven't played anything on the computer in weeks. It's been a bit of FIFA, a bunch of replaying Mass Effect 2, and finally finishing off Alan Wake a couple weeks ago. I kind of want to play something mindless, like Dungeon Siege III.

I'm added Torchlight to my rotation of LA Noire and Venetica. Suddenly I have game ADHD. I think I'll restart Venetica - a la Yapette - because I left San Pasquale before completing a couple of quests and it's driving me mad. That and I need to take down the first mini-boss in the Venice sewers and I'm not fairing well. [Image Can Not Be Found]
Like Pokey, I'm awaiting the Steam summer sale for a couple of games (where I'll find the time to play them, heaven only knows).

Just thought I'd chip in to the "can't get into L.A Noire" crowd.
Before I went on Honeymoon I was enjoying the game and got quite into it, but two weeks later? Ugh. That game is a horrible game to leave and then come back to. Time away has just highlighted everything I disliked about the gameplay. I'm 11 hours into the game, but by the reckoning of both friends and randoms on forums who have finished it, there's another 6 or 7 hours yet to go. I've got to be honest, another 6 or 7 hours of mindlessly combing over crime scenes until the music changes, then bungling my way through questions and still finishing missions regardless of performance sounds like nothing but a chore to me. I just reached a point where I wasn't enjoying the game anymore. The idea is incredibly compelling but I thought the reality of the execution felt wide of the mark.
A real shame. If it was shorter I think the experience would be a little more palatable, but I don't think the gameplay is good enough to support the better part of 20 hours (possibly more if you do all the side quests).
Playing. Playing.
King Arthur's Gold and Terraria. Two flavours of creative/destructive multiplayer 2d platforming, among which Terraria is assuredly superior but KAG is easy to play publically at any time...
This computer can't run much else. Anyone got any recommendations for cheap/freely available titles a gamophile probably hasn't played before, yet can run on a computer that can't even get a playable framerate out of Counterstrike: Source?
Not the easiest request, I admit O.O
I just downloaded Duels 2012 - but haven't had a chance to play it yet (thanks, New Vegas). I have the older Duels... Can you bring over your old decks to the new game?

I turned my Torchlight cat, Kaboodle, into a troll... that throws fire. I will miss her intermittent meows, but now she really kicks ass!
I downloaded the demo for Dungeon Siege 3, last night. Having never played the previous games, I just need to ask: who puts a freakin' spider's nest in the basement of the legion's chapterhouse?!! WTF?!!! Shouldn't the chapterhouse be a place of refuge and reflection, instead of death and destruction? Inquiring minds and all.

I tried the fireball on my dog but he missed his target most of the time, so I switched to skeleton warriors. I am back trying to play BG2 but it is really tough getting back into it. I spent most of yesterday trying to figure out how to do anything. This game is so much more complicated than Torchlight.
