GSI have confirmed the following:
1. Sonic the Hedgehog (Labyrinth Zone)
2. Thief II: The Metal Age (archer on the left, Mechanist on the right)
3. Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris (devious)
4. Combat
5. Warning Forever (there's only one vertical shooter that has those beams, bullets and that green)
6. Adventure Construction Set (this was ridiculously tough to find, a lot of trawling through 80s games. I got hung up on the King's Quest and Quest for Glory games though: 'the title says it all'. I even looked at the game 'Adventure' but that was text driven.)

Wowee!!
I'm not sure what to have Matt. I'm torn between several games.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 looks brilliant but my computer is getting old and tired now, and my connection is temperamental so the PC version might not be a good choice. My PS3 connection on Battlefield 1943 was pretty solid so BF:BC2 might be just as reliable but I'd be shackled by a pad. Are there any others here that play this on the PS3 as well, other than Mat C?
Solium Infernum would be great if I knew more people personally to play it with. Lewis said he'd be up for it if we had more takers. Anybody else interested? Information here if you aren't sure what it is.
The two no-brainers are of course Unchartered 2 and Heavy Rain which I'm really excited about as well.
I don't know!! Can I have some time to decide oh great magnanimous one?
Also, just so you know Matt, I'm a bonafide bargain hunter so if I can help stamp the cost down for you at all then please let me know.
@xtal: I can only thank GSI for their commitment and questionable expertise.
Grats, Gregg! (do GSI freelance, and how much do they charge?).
Ok, gonna spend a bit more time researching when the next banner change occurs...
I saw the Solaris with George Clooney, and enjoyed it. It's good to see a man get pushed past his limits (eg Clooney's character's reaction to his 'wife'), Clooney does a good job - and I much prefer serious Clooney to RomCom Clooney, any day of the week.

Jarrod, if you liked the American version, and if you're a patient fellow, watch Tarkovsky's Solaris. It's slow, and less faithful to the book, but for my money a far better film.
And now I can't use Tarkovsky movies in future Banner Picture-Guessing Contests! Curses! Helmut may have been my arch-foe, but Gregg clearly is now my arch-foe.

I can only apologise for the inevitable difficulty spike in this contest now I've knocked The Pike off his perch. That new banner looks like a visible manifestation of Steerpike's mind: evil.
@Jarrod: Trust me, they cost too much. I only hired them to get at Steerpike.
@Steerpike: While Helmut was your arch-foe in his tunnel network far, far away, I will be right beside you in the silo stealing your milk, not washing the pots and weeing on the toilet seat.

My mind is not evil, it's… it's… pragmatic. God dammit Gregg, the whole point of the contest was to make me look like a wonderfully generous game-giver but never actually have to give anything because it was too hard! [Image Can Not Be Found]
Henceforth external support mechanisms like Google and GSI (and LSI) are banned. Banned!
This one is really hard. Mysterious Clues to come. : )

Mysterious Clues!
- If you need a mysterious clue for this one, you're looking at it from a funny angle.
- When a nation hides its organic growth in a cellar... dark and dim.
- That lady is vexed. Terribly vexed.
- In Latin, the part that isn't there means "toward."
- Second of many.
- It'll break your heart, which you can't find your way around anyway.
