All MMOers, even those who don’t play, should watch The Guild, actress/writer/geek grrl hottie Felicia Day’s hilariously goofy and surprisingly accurate webshow send-up of what happens when game junkies meet in meatspace. Day is a Real Life actress, having appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, House, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and various commercials involving Cheetos and washing machines. Her scripts for The Guild bely a whip-smart sense of humor and true understanding of geekery. The show’s third season begins 9/1 for people without an Xbox 360 and began 8/25 for those with; to kick off the third season, the team put together the above music video to wet your whistle. If you haven’t seen the show before, be sure to visit The Guild’s website at www.watchtheguild.com and get caught up on earlier seasons. Day’s acting is outstanding; the others in her cast began as standups or even dancers so cut them some slack; the experience is definitely worth it.

I watched the first season of The Guild about two weeks and never laughed so hard in my life. It’s dead-on in the whole geek/MMO/meeting online MMOers in RL. I nearly wet my pants when they took on what’s-his-name’s Mother as a raid.
