What the f….?

Well, I'm guessing the first game is Shining Force.  The rest looks like drug-induced drivel [Image Can Not Be Found]

And if you say that #5 can be found in the depths of this site, I'm gonna say Metro 2033.

That is unquestionably the worst internet-based English to Latin translation I've ever seen.

Because the power of honesty is so great we admire it even in a foe, I accept responsibility for the banner above and ask forgiveness. It was on account of the medicine. As this crime is my burden, I will reveal the first image upon the banner above: it is Shining Force.

See? Easy.

Yay machine translators!

Latin to write beneath wise mind to make known is. Ambition proof only shamming to make known is

Now it's sounding like something Yoda would say…  "Ambition only proof of shamming is, yeeeeees".

I liked Pratchett's description of "Carpe Testiculum" - hold your enemy in your hands, and he'll bow to your will (or something like that, it was read a long time ago).

#5, looks like it's upside down. Or I've not had enough caffeine yet.

Bajeebers, these ones are hard...  #4 looks like it could be a tree from Fable.  And #1 looks like it should be an album cover!

Oh yeah... #1 kind of looks like the album cover for Who's Next... albeit with very different colouring.

Oooh, he's changed them up, again. Both #1 and #3 look familiar but I wouldn't be able to begin to figure out from where. Where's Gregg's CSI team when you need them?

Alright, next batch: make a special one for people who didn't start playing video games until 1990. That's me, ok? My pre-1990 video game collection basically includes Super Mario Bros., Zork, and NES Jeopardy!

If this is all much more recent than that, well I'm a sad excuse for a gamer.

I may have gotten carried away on the distortion with the last two. Just think, once the contest ends I can go back to just stylizing them a little. 🙂

OMG! I think I know what the fourth one is! It's one of those Pharoah-like games!

:does happy dance:

Yes, I'm easily amused.

GSI think they know image 1 but definitely know 2, 5 and 6. So far.

Toger, you're not far off with your guess. Very close in fact. Just change the empire 😉

What were the answers for the last set of bastard images O Great Steerpike, Master of Filters?

The fact that I got even THAT close is enough for me! [Image Can Not Be Found]

And you can tell what #6 is? It looks like drunken painting by cats! (dogs don't have that much finesse)

GSI is alarmingly good at this.

The previous list:

  1. Shining Force
  2. Fritz Lang's Metropolis
  3. Boulder Dash
  4. Mega Man
  5. Project IGI: I'm Going In (upside down)
  6. Vigil: Blood Bitterness

Project IGI.... what a random, unsuspecting game.

Pretty bad, if I recall as well?

Oh terrible. Well, mediocre at best. And yet I've had this strange attraction to it since I did a review like ten years ago for Gone Gold. I still play it to this very day. It's a badly done tactical shooter with almost nothing going for it. In fact I kind of feel like playing it right now. God dammit!

It was more the colours that 'gave it away' (I use that term very loosely) than actually making anything in particular out. Inebriated cats are masters with colour. Masters.

Blimey, GSI bombed on that one. Mega Man II was on the previous one wasn't it? In Steerpikes world, lightning does strike in the same place twice…

Have you seen my success in the trivia section? Yeah, all none of it.

New pictures!  Are you going to put us out of our collective miseries over the last lot, Mr Steerpike?

The fifth of this lot looks like an old school RPG, like Secret of the Silver blades, or Eye of the Beholder…. one of those pseudo 3D western RPGs.

And the third looks like a movie still.

Maybe the original Dune for the 6th?

The rest look like rorschach tests at this stage!
