…Tales from the Borderlands comes super-close to completely wrecking itself on account of an abrupt, unsuitable, ill-conceived ending incongruous enough to cast a pall over the entire first season. But however much the last episode put me off, it was only really depressing because it was over.
This is going to sound weird probably but evidence suggests that I’m a pretty good teenage girl. My exuberant performance as Gaige in Borderlands 2 is legendary – ask anybody – and before that I managed a highly effective troupe of Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble. Put me in a tartan skirt and I’ll change the world, or at least the school’s immediate environs. So it probably comes as little surprise that I enjoyed the first part of Dontnod’s odd, sweet, beautiful Life is Strange, an episodic consequenture from the creators of Remember Me.
I downloaded the WiiWare title Strong Bad: Homestar Ruiner on my (what else?) Wii a few weeks ago. I have a high regard for Telltale Games, and they seem to have made a go of this episodic content business (but where’s the next Bone, hmm?), so I was looking forward to this, ‘specially given it’s on the Wii, my current favorite platform du jour (how’s this for a run-on sentence?).
