Hi Wally.  I haven't downloaded YR yet.  I've got a couple of games that I'd like to finish first.  Another week or 2, I think.  I'll post impressions.

Well, Wally, I think you've convinced me to download Yoomurjak's Ring from TAS.  I don't usually like downloading games because I can't loan them to friends, trade them, or sell them when I'm finished.  But I've been waiting a long time for this one, and there aren't too many FMV games around that I want to play.

Thanks for the info.

Hi Spike, to be honest YsR was my only second game purchased online — as I share the same opinion of a physical medium and their advantage in many ways. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Have you any progressed in the game, how about your first feelings?

Hi again!  Sorry I couldn't post back right away.  Lately I've only been able to access these forums once every week or two.

It's funny but that title 'Fate of the Starlords' sounded sorta/kinda familiar to me after I read what you had posted on it, so I was looking through my owned games list and found out I had purchased it.  Hehe, this must be one of those games I've yet to get around playing, but bought it long enough ago that I forgot about it.  I'm guessing I have the much easier to find version 3.2.  Same goes for Wyatt Earp's Old West.  I bought a copy of it long ago but never got around to really playing it.  I think I tried installing it but had some issues.  I remember it not being an adventure game at all, just a cheesy shooter game.

So Mediola developed Woodspell?  Hmm...I wonder how many games total they developed as a company.  I had just assumed they died an ignoble death after finishing up 'Who's Fat Lou?' [Image Can Not Be Found]

You really got me interested in VOID now!  I have it on my ebay list and am keeping my fingers crossed at this point, hehehe.

Really the only information about 'The Romantic Blue' I've heard about came from one source.  He runs the http://adventurepoint.co.uk/ website, and he posts on some of the adventure forums as Llewellyn.  Here is what he emailed me about the game.

"  The Romantic Blue was a game produced, early on, by William Fisher of Last Half of Darkness fame. I've asked him for more info, but he says he has very little. Screenshots are extremely scarce. I have one on my website of a bride over an afforested canyon, and that's it. I have some game info. on there too. If you find any more let me know, and I'll put them on the website. "

The only real mention of 'The Displacement' is on Boakes' website:

http://www.darklingroom.co.uk/

I don't own a copy of 'The Displacement' but am looking for one. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Here's a pic of some of the rarer adventure games I used to own.

That's a great pic Scout!  Do you have a higher resolution version available?  I spent some time trying to identify all of the games in that bookcase, but some of them are just too fuzzy.  What I admired about you in your buying days is you wouldn't ever be satisfied with just the cd-rom's or a jewel case version.  Nope, you always went all out and hunted down the full boxed version!  I have quite a few games in that pic that are without box, heh, like Galador, Blue Heat, and Mode.  I can easily spot the crown jewel of the collection sitting pretty right in the middle of the pic in that cool red box. Thanks.

Here are close ups of both shelves of the more rare games, about half of the collection I think. As you can see there are a bunch of CD only games but they were less rare games.

Hehe, pretty cool.  I spot quite a few games in that pic that I don't have boxes for.  What is that game that lies between 'Devo' and 'Blue Ice'?

While not nearly as impressive, here is a pic I took of a few games that might be considered rarish.

Lakerz, that is Nippon Safes. I thought I was getting an English version but there was a "misunderstanding" with the seller. [Image Can Not Be Found] Not the English version unfortunately but the Italian version.

AD 2044 is one I could never snag. Had it in my crosshairs for years with no success.

Someone sent me a burn of The Hohlenwelt Saga once but I never looked at it. I also never managed to get The Muppet game.

What is Zer Zone?

Duh, it has been some time since my last posting. I should really be working on to improve my attendance here.

Meanwhile, you made nice and bigger, worth reading thread. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Lakerz,

You were right, 'Wyatt Earp' is not an adventure game at all, it's rather some historically education and shooting title. The pictures I had a chance to see looked typically adventurish.

Congrats on 'Fate of the Starlords', obviously it's not only my problem forgetting the games I already have purchased. Have you progressed any further so far, or the game is still on your TODO list? To my knowledge, Mediola developed these two games only (Fat Lou, Woodspell) back in 1996, and thus my collection might be considered as complete. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Thanks for pointing-out 'AdventurePoint', I have already noticed this webpage even a little chit-chatted with the owner. Truly a webpage of high proportions fully dedicated to my beloved genre, I can hardly imagine how much efforts is hidden behind it's birth. I can clearly see this labour of passion. Thank you for the informations, I managed to dig up more screenshots and walkthru from 'The Displacement'

3x Wow. Scout, Lakerz what a nice bunch of pictures. Too many I'm in a search for. Not sure which one is more rarer but to me the 'Cosmology of Kyoto' is above 'ALICE'. And of course, 'Case of the Cautious Condor' boxed and I believe shrinkwrapped.

Being stuck frozen in a dream for a few minutes, I can continue… I can see the 'Geisha' here in Scout's picture but not the 'Golden Immortal' which gives me a conclusion he had another shelve(s) filled with adventure games, am I right? [Image Can Not Be Found]

Also Flair's A.D.2044 gives me a feeling of wet dreams. Nice collection guys, giving me an idea to make some picture of mine. But I have a mess in storage capacity, putting boxes to each corner that's not occupied. I should make some sort of arrangement first.

So far I made another search for obscure titles. Have you heard of this one:

Victorian Park, does anybody know, or can approve there is English version available?

There were several more shelves of adventure games, Wallyman.

Here's Golden Immortal.

We'd love to see some Wallyman collection shots on this thread. Especially one of where GI lives now!

Ah, Nippon Safes!  I don't know that I've ever seen what the box of that game looked like.  A "misunderstanding" you say?  How very unfortunate!  Much like your Nippon Safes, I fear my A.D. 2044 is most likely a non-English version also.  I don't know for sure because it's still in the shrinkwrap.  I have an English copy that I played so for now just fool myself into thinking that my A.D. 2044 is English version as well.  Wish I knew someone with an English version A.D. 2044 who could send me a picture of the back of the box so I could compare.  Mine doesn't have English writing (I don't think) but Spanish, Italian, etc.

The other game you refer to is actually called 'Zero Zone'.  It's a rather obscure Cryo adventure game that has never gotten much publicity of any kind.  I believe there is some mention of it on the a-for-adventure, adventure-archiv, and mobygames websites.  Over the years, I've picked up a few obscure Cryo titles that I've not heard much about like 'Dreams to Reality', 'Guardian of Darkness', 'Riverworld', and 'UBIK'

I had to look closely to find the 'Golden Immortal' box, heh.  I had forgotten the box was that wide!  Sure doesn't stand out much in a crowd. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Wallymian, 'Fate of the Starlords' is one of those games I've just never gotten around to playing.  Upon consideration, I can say that about a whole lot of other games too.  The gentleman behind the AdventurePoint website is truly a nice guy I agree!  What I find amazing about his website is that he did the whole thing himself, and all the programming parts and other parts was self taught.  It's a bit rough around the edges, but my God he did it all by himself!!  I couldn't do that in a million years!  And he does know a heck of a lot about the odd and obscure to be sure, heh.

I think you may be right that the highly sought after unfolding box version of 'Cosmology of Kyoto' is probably rarer than 'Alice Interactive', even if it doesn't get as much attention and price in a sale.  Scout is I think the only person I knew of that had a copy in his possession.  I notice he's got both versions of the game in his bookshelf in the picture.  What a showoff, hehehehe.

I'm pretty sure I've never heard of a game called 'Victorian Park' before so can't comment on there being an English version or not.  Where did you hear about it?  What language is your copy?  I'm guessing Japanese since the developer is Bandai?  Is it a true adventure game or a hybrid?  As far as pics go, I have the exact same problem as you.  My living quarters have always been so tight that I've been forced to put my games in bankers boxes and place them in storage.  It's an expensive solution, but the flip side to that is I'm saving more money on rent by living in a smaller place than I'm losing in money I pay out each month for storage.  Wacky logic but it works for me.

  Hi folks,

Just dropping by to say hello. Haven't been around much due to some family things. Haven't even updated the website for ages and ages. But I felt like saying hello to some old pals, so here goes. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Has anyone found any gems lately? I know that at least some of you are still looking for the elusive 'non-existent' games. I managed to find a boxed The Blobjob recently, so I'm happy that at least one of my never ending quests is at an end. Got a couple of others too. But this one is by far the most satisfying. No idea when I'll get time to play it though. Hopefully this year. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Anyway, good to talk again. Hope everyone is well and happy. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Help! I've made two posts to this thread in the last 24 hours. The thread title page shows that i made posts but when I look at the thread, they're not there.

I thought something was odd when I couldn't get ANY of the reply (nor reply with quote), buttons to work at all on the 2nd page of the thread. I could only get up the post a reply box from page 1.

But, i see nothing when I look at the thread. Wallymian's "Duh" post is the last one I can see.

I've cleared my cache and cookies and even tried using Firefox browser. But no go. Any ideas please? I don't know the exact words of what I wrote last night, but it was to with asking if anyone had snagged any rarities lately.

Help if you can please. Thanks ...................... and ......................... hello everyone!

  Gelert.

P.S.; When I 'do the math' and post this reply, it's very likely I won't be able to see it. Only YOU can. Weird! [Image Can Not Be Found]

Hey Gelert,

I see your posts fine.

I don't actively look for rare games anymore though I have a growing pile of loudspeakers out in my garage...(guess what I do actively look for now...), but still sort of give the local Goodwill game section a quick glance. Mostly, at least in the town where I live, the old computer game supply has dried up. I used to find games like complete Loom, Yellow Brick Road, etc. tucked away on shelves in thrft stores but now I'm lucky to find an unboxed Diablo. The other alternaive is to buy and sell online and that just doesn't cut it anymore.

Hope to see more of you around here.

Hi! I can't see this post, but I wanted to let y'all know that I'm having to do something (probably), daft. As I can't see anything after Wallymian's June post, I'm going to (probably, probably), start another thread with the same title to see if that works. A daft idea maybe, but I'm stuck for a solution otherwise - and Scout! I can see you've posted from the thread title of last poster, but I can't see your post so, if it's any sort of reply to me I apologise for not answering it. I can see everything in all the other threads .................. weird!

I've P.M.'d Steerpike so I'm being an even bigger pain in the arse now. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Anyway, here's my post to Steerpike (summarised), to see if anyone else can tell me what's going on with the funny page.

"Hi! With reference to that problem I'm having on the one thread, I've noticed something. Remember I said that, on page 2 of the thread, if I click on Reply to thread/post, nothing happens, and I get NO white reply box? Well, on all other threads and the 1st page of that thread, it appears to be okay. BUT, on that page two, when I click on reply to thread/post, not only does nothing happen, but a yellow triangle, with an exclamation mark in it, appears in the bottom left corner of the page, with Error On Page written next to it. This doesn't seem to happen on any other thread nor on the 1st page of the thread. I still can't see my post on that thread, and I want to talk to people on it. Bwahahahaha! ................. I'm a right pain in the arse, aren't I?  [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found] [Image Can Not Be Found]

I may as well start another thread on exactly the same 'Have You Heard Of This One?' subject, and see if it runs okay. Is that okay with you?

  Thanks.

  Gelert."

Hey folks!

I see you Gelert!

Just wanted to ask if there's anything special about: Kindgom O'Magic, Dracula: Unleashed, and Emily Culpepper and Friends.

I'm sure you've heard of the first two... but.... now... have you heard of the third?[Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]

STILL trying to download my on-line personality. … and looking at things from a funny angle …
