Well maybe just one question: how do you slow the game down? I haven't found a command in options.
So far I'm not really that impressed with it. But I definitely find myself wondering when/if Blizzard's ever going to base an MMO on it. Sure it'd be the death of WOW, but how much longer can that game go on? Which leads to my inevitable unanswerable question: how many of its subscription base really consists of farmers?
You ask the hard questions, Ernest!
I'm unaware of a game-slowing command, though there may well be one. If so, they certainly don't advertise it.
As for an MMO, well, Blizzard's already said they're working on "a new MMO." Will it be World of Starcraft? I don't know!... but to be honest, my guess is that it won't be. Blizzard doesn't like to be predictable. Instead I think we might see an MMO based on the Diablo franchise.

Sure as hell hope it's neither Starcraft or Diablo.
Not tested these cheats for SC II (never going to play SC II) but http://cheats.ign.com/ob2/068/.....6.html is probably close to comprehensive. Whatever the issues with IGN are, they run good on that stuff.

What ever happened to RTSes that had options to let you run them at different speeds?
I'm somewhat profoundly disappointed by SC2. I was no fanboy of the original, but it was at least fun. Well okay finishable. Compared to other RTS games which I barely even started, much less finished.
I really really don't like having to log into companies' servers to play games. Not sure why, but internally it feels somehow related to why I don't like e-readers.
I too have never been a fan of "log on to play." Partly because it makes me feel looked at, and partly because I don't want a bazillion logins and passwords for every stupid game studio's personal answer to Steam.
Starcraft II was a disappointment, at least, as a follow-up to the original. I enjoyed while I played then forgot it almost immediately. I think we're going to see a huge falloff in sales when the next one ships. Unless you're interested in multiplayer I wouldn't recommend it.

Unless you bought an RTS for multiplayer you were starting from the very-silly-person position and climbing uphill.
[edit] Completely unrelated by yee-hah, the Out of the Game podcast's risen from the grave. Green & company doing a solid hour on game design and the sounds pooping makes. What's not to love?
