Sucker, me.  I couldn't help myself.  I downloaded Myst from the iTunes Store ($5.99).  Only played for a few minutes (honestly, a magnifying glass might be necessary).  It's the Myst we all knew and loved, just smaller, and with touch interface.  This was the 1st really big deal computer game I ever played, and the only game I've played twice.  1st time in mid-90's, 2nd time a few years ago to see if it held up over time, and I thought it did.  The opening music, the sound effects...goosebumps.  Has the game really held up well?  Was it really that spectacular at the time?  Or is it just nostalgia?  I don't think it matters.  After all, you never forget your 1st love.

How much smaller is it? Is using your fingers too imprecise? (No, I have no plans to purchase it, but I am curious)

No, it was spectacular. [Image Can Not Be Found] I'll never forget. The music does the same thing for me. You did play Myst 3D in your replay, yes? Panning vs nodes as it should have been from the beginning.

True love never dies but sometimes wrinkles & creaks are more obvious when (a game is) revisted after some years.

Well, Toger, it's the size of an iPhone/Touch screen, which is to say small, as you know.  I'm really not sure if some of the puzzles will be doable at that size - maybe with a magnifier, but even then, I don't know.  I only played for about 5-7 minutes - read a letter lying in the grass, went up the steps to throw a switch, then into 2 rooms to look at books and open the elevator door.

In this game, unlike some other games/apps where you slide/spread your fingers, you use your finger like the mouse:  tap on the right side to go right, etc.  Tap to pick something up or make something do something.  So no problems there.

Yapette, my replay was with my original game.  I thought about one of the updated versions, but didn't want to spend $$ on a second copy.  Should there be a three-peat in my future?  Panning would be good.
