Some weeks back I bemoaned the fact that Steam released The Orange Box for Mac 5 days after I received it in the mail and took off the shrink-wrap. I would have preferred to play on Mac, but I resigned myself to playing on PC.
I was browsing in the Steam Forums and happend to look at Mac FAQs. Darned if you can't download the Mac version if you've purchased and installed/registered the PC hard copy.
Half-Life 2 and Ep. 1 & 2 for Mac are downloading as I type. I love Steam. Now if they'd only start adding more non-casual games for Mac (Diaper Dash???!!!)….
"…you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake."
In the mid 90s lots of adventure games used to be released with both PC and MAC versions on the same cdrom. They called them hybrids. I doubt Steam has any urge to revive that. Mostly they just know better than to piss off customers. Unlike most of the industry which seems to go out of its way to do so.
