I wanted to mention something but didn't want to create a topic about it, so instead I, um, created a topic about it.

Much to my unexpected delight I popped onto Twitch last night and noticed that there's a channel streaming a marathon of the entire run of Cosmos (the Carl Sagan original). The channel is just called "cosmos" I think so it's easy to find. They're running the marathon again starting on April 27-28.

Here I'll just copy+paste the info section of their twitch channel:

All 13 episodes of COSMOS: A Personal Voyage will air twice on Twitch, first on April 24-25 starting at 12:00PM PDT and again on April 27-28, beginning at 2:00pm PDT.

Following the April 28 marathon, we’ll host a live Q&A on /twitch with Ann Druyan, co-creator of COSMOS: A Personal Voyage and wife of the show’s host, the late Carl Sagan.

So yeah. If you've never seen Cosmos, it's so wonderful. And, perhaps surprising (or perhaps not) for a science program from 1980, it's still very watchable today. I don't know whose idea it was to stream it on Twitch but it was a good one. A lot of young people have probably never had the chance to see it.

Great find! The original Cosmos is classic. Anybody who hasn't seen it, try to catch at least some -- they meant well with the recent remake, but it doesn't compare to the simplicity and message of the original.

Yeah I thought the new one was great too, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson is one of my living heroes, but the original is on another level. I'm sure he'd agree that Sagan's "Cosmos" is untouchable.
