Well no one else is going to say it, so I will.   Spike has been missing for over a year.   Steerpike and I had a couple of emails about this.  I know he tried to trace her down and wasn't able to.   So we can only conclude what we conclude.

But I do miss her. She was here to interact with all of us on whatever we wanted to talk about.   And she got me to play  STALKER and my playing STALKER was a highly unlikely event.

And Spike continues to be the all time high poster on the  FFC Memorial Lounge & Bordello  --  1187  (me --  285).

So I just wanted to say, "Spike, no matter where you are now,  you are still someone I think about and am glad to have known."

For those un-privy to the occasional discussions of this matter on the staff forum, I've been trying to reach Spike for about ten months. This process has been made somewhat easier by the fact that I know some stuff about her; made much harder by the fact that while my efforts turned up a lot of information, I wasn't able to absolutely, concretely confirm what might have happened to our Spike.

Ultimately I did track down a home address and phone number, sent a couple of post cards and left some messages, but received no response. In the end I'm forced to conclude that Spike had been given some very strong reason to leave the site behind (there is no evidence of this), or that something happened so suddenly she wasn't able to give us any warning.

If I knew, for sure, that the worst had happened, I would put together a little tribute for her. She'd been around this site since before even I was a part of it. And while I think it's safe to make the assumption, I can't stand the idea of jumping the gun like that on someone's whole life.

So Spike, if you're out there, you're on our minds.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Huh. I hope nothing is wrong. People do leave websites for all kinds of reason, many of them personal. I didn't see any indication that Spike left because of anything that happened here, either. I figured she just moved on.

I was thinking about her recently as well, it's strange that she disappeared without any sort of goodbye. I hope she's okay. frown

I miss her too.

Knowing her address since we've swapped disks in the past, I have walked down the street in front of her condo using Street View. Alas, I didn't see her out & about. sigh

I miss her too. But it's good to see your regal avatar pop up again, Yapette. Such a distinguished pooch.
