If I have to live in a hole in the ground, I'd want the room to be left on the springs. That whole motion thing might soothe away the fact that there are no windows. At the very least we'd need a sky-light in the main silo doors.

Through all this time, through the mockery, I never deviated from my plan of using an abandoned missile silo as our headquarters. What had once been Four Fat Chicks High Command will now be known as Tap (the button) Repeatedly! As the only gaming site impervious to nuclear war, our eventual dominance is assured.

Great.  Just great.  This location might be perfect for Yap, but I've never had a hankerin' to live in Texas - nothing against Texas, I just...well, ok.  I really don't want to live in Texas.

But suntubes could be the perfect solution.

Nooooo, Spike, the Titan silo I have in mind is actually in Nevada.

Now, I hate Nevada, on account of it's hot, but think: deeeeeep underground, cool pleasant environment, constant low-level radio activity, air conditioning... it's like heaven.

Admittedly, it's much more expensive than this fellow's Atlas silo ($1.5M) but what we'll get for that price is really indescribable. I mean, the radiation alone is worth $100K!

I got a chill up my spine when the author mentioned that many of the blast doors have collapsed from their own weight. How much it would suck to be inside when one of those suckers jammed.

I'm thinking tree house, myself.  And since I don't particulary like heights, it would be cool to find a very short, thick tree. Like this one:

We'd probably construct an elaborate system of tunnels to supplement the ones already in place in the silo. Many would allow unfettered access to the surface, though we'd have to camouflage them and set a variety of deadly traps to prevent unwanted visitors.

Can one of the escape tunnels open up into a tree house? [Image Can Not Be Found] What better camouflage.
