I read this article with some interest. Be sure to follow the link to the author's previous article, "much to my eye's detriment". This could really be something next level in immersion, although something I'd probably miss out on. I suspect that once the technology improves enough to help with the 'grid eye' this could be a peripheral in every house.

Pretty impressive. I've recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the DK2 unit and it's come a long way - but it's still not there yet. The resolution and refresh of the screens isn't where it needs to be, and they have some industrial design problems to work out, but it sounds like the next revision of the hardware corrects a lot of this stuff. Elite Dangerous may be the perfect evangelist for the technology.
