Looks like we'll get the choice of 2 of the 5 games below:
Little Big Planet
Rachet and Clank, Search for Booty (or something like that)
Infamous
Dead Nation
Wipeout HD Fury
I'm a little underwhelmed at this offering…
What do you guys think? Which are the best 2 to get out of that list? At this stage I'm leaning towards Infamous (how linear/open is this game?) and Wipeout (as I don't have any racing games at the moment at all)…

Little Fucking Big Planet. Obviously! Come on, I know we all agree it's somewhat overrated but at the end of the day you can't say those bloody sack peoples aren't adorable as hell!
Second choice… I've heard inFamous (Really? … that's worse than "WipEOut 3") has some coolness. But a racing game would be neat. Or I'd like to have a football (the soccer-y type) game perhaps, if only to somehow involve my girlfriend in playing a damn game with me… but no FIFA or PES on offer, so meh.
Overall though I see nothing wrong with this offer. I think it would be better to maybe credit some cash onto everyone's PSN account to let them choose from anything, but I think what's being offered is fair.
I'm not a Sony lover or Sony fanboy/apologist (okay, I'm not a fanboy of anything… that's just silly), I'm more or less indifferent to them. I like their console quite a bit, and enjoy its features and exclusive titles, that's about as deep as it goes. That said, even I can admit that they don't really owe me anything; yeah, they fucked up huge, but handing out reparations really does nothing to repair the core issue, which is the security of Sony's network infrastructure. All I'd like them to do is be much more cautious in the future. They can't guarantee anything, who can? We willingly give them personal information in exchange for whatever you get out of your PS3/PSN experience, and with that we have to assume a bit of risk.
It's like that joke in Family Guy (pretty sure it was FG, not 100% though) where some idiots hand out Rice Krispies squares to black people to apologize for slavery. Gifts do not equal an apology, they can be nice, but they're no substitute. At the same time, it's not productive or terribly useful to just give shit away.
So there; personally I don't think Sony owes anyone any free games. Anyone who has become soured by these events, or has lost faith in Sony's competence has the option to cease using online features of their PS3 or stop using it altogether. I think Sony should (and they have) humbly apologize to their customers and promise to do a better job. Free games are a bonus. They really are.
Personally this PSN outage has had absolutely no affect on me. All of my PS3 games are playable offline and I've never done any multiplayer with the exception of the Echoes leaderboard-chasing thing in Bulletstorm and a bit of co-op with a friend in Uncharted 2. The only way I was affected was having my name and address, and potentially credit card information, put into the hands of hackers/wrongdoers, and subsequently, potentially the third parties they sell that to. But I hope that doesn't happen.
I trust Sony enough to continue using and supporting their platform. If it bites me in the ass I've got only myself to blame the second time.

I'm with Jarrod on this one. I think it's a disgrace that the best Sony can offer for what's been a boondoggle and fiasco is a tiny selection of older games, as most of the people who may have been interested in them already have played them.
What it really shows is that notwithstanding whatever press releases Sony generates it still views its customers as little more than revenue sources, as it risked virtually nothing by its "free" offer.
Note to SP: Infamous isn't worth it. Yep even given that it's free. Couldn't hold Ben's interest for any amount of time. Its protagonist is dull, and the other characters are beyond lampoonish.
The game plays as though its characterizations were written by high-schoolers.
Little Big Planet is a wonderful toy but if you're looking for a meatier, gamier game I can offer that Infamous is at least better than Prototype. Rather than being an utter mess of half-done features ripped from Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with placeholder graphics and broken boss fights, Infamous is truly polished. A bit easy/formulaic perhaps but a decent sandbox superhero/villain playset =)

Are the cushions for arm-rested chairs or non-arm-rested ones? [Image Can Not Be Found]
Just saw a presser that said services should be fully restored by the end of the week, including the PSN store.

Which makes me wonder, can we redeem the cushions by redemption code, Spike?

I can report that because of their compact yet generous size, they will fit on chairs with or without armrests. As we now know from the Game Space photos, everyone has their own preference. Sadly, they will not fit on fancy-schamcy split chair seats, nor on any save-your-back wide-but-not-deep seats. Since everyone also has color preferences, these lovely cushions come in either a cool gray, taupe, or the ever-popular black. (And NO to those guys who may be color-blind...those colors are not all the same.)

inFamous I couldn't give a rats left testicle about, LBP can go and float off into the platforming abyss from whence it came and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty I've heard is inferior to the previous titles in the series (which I haven't played either).
So by the almighty powers of elimination I'll be choosing WipEout HD/Fury (been wanting this for ages) and Dead Nation which looks like Alien Breed and Alien Swarm cross with Left 4 Dead — a fun looking mix.
Is anybody here interested in joining me on Dead Nation for some coop action? [Image Can Not Be Found]

Had to do a little dance with the Account Management settings to download them, though.
Yeah, what's with that? Short of going online and doing some searching about, there was absolutely no hint that you had to go rummaging around the Account Management menu. The games just sort of disappeared from the PSN store leaving me blinking with incredulity.
Any takers for Dead Nation or is everybody spent?
I don't know what's up with that... maybe Sony are trying to make it a little difficult for people to download, so they don't have to issue credit or something? I had to search online to find out what the hell was going on - I just thought Sony was succumbing to more hacking, inititally.
