DotEMU (similar to GoG; only French) is now offering a Collector's Edition (includes original soundtrack, Making of and walk-through) of The Last Express as a download for a mere $9.99US

Loved, loved, loved this game when I played it a few years ago. Much loved & critically-acclaimed classic point n' click adventure with beautifully roto-scoped characters.

This game was considered among the most technologically groundbreaking ever. It introduced genuine nonlinearity in a time when such a thing was considered impossible, and a relational character system that reacted based on the player's actions. Last Express inspired many a future designer. If you're into gaming history and haven't tried it, check the game out. It's a steal at that price.

Its a "Real Time" adventure game.  You are on the train, a clock is running and everything is happening around you, moving forward as you investigate the mystery.  You can miss vital clues if you aren't in the right place at the right time…and thats sort of the over-arching puzzle through the entire game…where should I be now?  I believe the save game feature was more akin to rewinding to specific times, if Im not mistaken.

Ice-Pick Lodge's Pathologic was heavily influenced by this game. Be where you need to be; be there in time, don't miss a thing. Last Express is from Jordan Mechner (creator of Prince of Persia), and well worth your time.

Thanks for the link Toger, The Last Express is on my Adventure Games To Play Before I Expire list so I'll pick this up. It reminds me a lot of Delphine's Cruise for a Corpse, only not set on a boat and a lot better by all accounts.

Anybody here play Bad Mojo and/or Redux? That's another adventure game I've heard a lot of good stuff about.

The Last Express is one of the  best adventure games I ever played.  It was the first game I played where what happened was dependent on what I did and I always had choices about what I could do.   Titanic was another great game  that tried to give the player this kind of freedom.

They are both worth playing.

Gregg, I played Bad Mojo many years ago and liked it. It was fun playing a cockroach. The game holds up well for its age.

I loved Mojo Redux. A nice FFC person sent me a care package way back when. Wish I could remember who!

And now it's available on GoG. Maybe it'll show up on Steam?

For those of you who still haven't played The Last Express, it's releasing for iOS Thursday, (9/27 or 27/9 for our Euro friends)
