Doesn't this look like Kult: Heretic Kingdoms? Only with a crazy head-banging soundtrack and possibly really bad Czech to English translations: (to wit; "he will be loosed out of his prison")

Based on its web page, maybe more of a hybrid of Kult & Daemonica...

The storyline is based mainly on the investigation of various crimes, so the core components of the game are to expose malefactors, gain evidence against them and to prove them guilty in court, using both the canon law and the secular law of the Empire. One of the most important laws is the Inquisitional codex which lays down the rules and principles of the inquisitional process. And it’s the codex that governs your methods and action while hunting for heretics and witches who threaten the whole Empire with their obscure plots.

Except, it's been 10, yes, TEN freakin' years in development and 1,500 pages of script. It's War & Peace for the RPG set. And it includes interrogation and torture (my favs).

(if you pre-order before the end of the year, you'll get $20 off the price of the game... )

So in your opinion, “100 kilometers of twisting corridors” is worth the full asking price of $49.99 USD? Even at $20 discount, sorta steep for something that looks like Divine Divinity which at release in 2002 already looked Old Skool.

Just sayin'. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I'm not completely against taking chances as evidenced by last January's preorder for Legends of Daemonica . Of which I have yet to see a sign…or receive an email…although I've emailed them twice.

Now, off topic. [Image Can Not Be Found] Did you go to Funcom's site for The Secret World? And take a test to determine which faction is most like you? I tested Templer but feel more like a Dragon, so I joined up.

Uh, no. I don't think 100 km of corridors is worth $49.99. I found the price outrageous, especially for a PC game. I'm holding out for better pricing. Besides, I have enough in my backlog to sink a ship. I really need to lay off (don't ask me about that pre-order for Scribblenauts)

Ooo! No, I didn't. I'll have to take the test from home. Stupid University is behind in its flash and they've locked down my machine so I can't install on my own. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I'll report back later this weekend. :D

You would be perfect for THE DRAGON: The Art of Chaos

Manipulators and conspirators, the Dragon have survived millennia by playing their enemies against each other. Since before the first empire, through the aggression of the Mongol Khans and the ebb and tide of political change, a whisper in the right ear, a strategic assassination, alliances carefully crafted and broken - and the world eventually bends to patient will of the immortal Dragon.

With a spiritual and philosophical approach to the secret crafts, as an acolyte of the Dragon you are taught to listen, shown how to teach others, and expected to respect the balance of the universe and to be humble in the face of fate. Yours is not the path of force, though force is often needed to clear the path.

Few know of the Dragon and their long history, and that is how the Dragon want it. You are invisible but pervasive, silent but all-knowing, and when the other secret societies have decimated each other, you will rebuild the world from the ruins of their arrogance.

The Dragon is too easily underestimated, but those who do so live to regret it - or die before they get the chance.

My motto (besides the "mutate or die" one): the more the merrier! If you're tagging along in the back, that must mean you're the healer?

MMOs are [Image Can Not Be Found]. I love playing a game with other humans. Well, not exactly playing with, more like playing parallel.

I am thrilled we are team Dragonette. [Image Can Not Be Found] Or if you prefer, we could have another name.

Let's see, as the loudest mouth (thus temp leader), I say Toger should be the Assassin, sneaky & ruthless, out front with double daggers ready to slew the unwary.

I, of course, must be in the back row in some capacity. If up to me to assign tasks, I wouldn't trust me as a Healer. I love nuking & cursing & hexing so some kind of Warlock/Mesmer/Elementalist/Mage duties for me, please.

Helmut, are you a front row, double-bladed* let's bash-their-heads-in kind of guy? We sure need one or more Warriors with brutalistic tendencies. And since you're first, you get to be Alpha Male (of brutalisticals, not all of us).

* a massive hammer would work too. massive axe if you prefer.

Yapette you must be familiar with the sci-fi works of Larry Niven, whose Puppeteer race believed in the concept of the 'hindmost', the 'leader who leads from behind, whose death would be a catastrophe for all'. Just watched the movie '300' last night. Putting the king on the front line is epic fail. Well I don't have the six pack of Leonides but I'd be honoured to be up front.  That's a lot of clicking right? I think I'm ready.

Maybe I can get a six pack airbrushed on. If they can put swimsuits on naked models, they can put abs on me.

Helmut, never fear. If hauling & hammering hay bales didn't give you abs, there are always chemicals. Think: Bioshock. Plasmids = Power! [Image Can Not Be Found]

In our game, we could make it so you continue to hit as long as the left (right?) mouse button is held down. That should also help Toger's carpel tunnel.

Might I mention at this time that *my* wrist is killing me from all the clicking in Guild Wars? So much so that I took off playing (all games) Sunday in order to rest.

Never doubt the abs are there. Think of anvils inside a beach ball. [Image Can Not Be Found] That could be my character  name, Hidden Anvils. Think of the enemies running amok kicking beach sand in everyone's faces. Suddenly they spot a Chartreuse beach ball and decide to kick it right at some kids playing on the swings. BAM! sore toes. That's what I bring.

I hate daggers. They require that you get up-close & personal with your target, invading their space, breathing their garlicky or non-dental hygiene breath (which leads to the question as to why I bought Assassin's Creed, but I digress). I much prefer using a bow so that I can lay the smack-down from afar. Failing that, I like a long sword; preferably flaming or acid-dipped. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I have an ab. It's a big one, too. Call it a kegger.

Re Inquisitor, I'm in! What's not to love about a game with evil minions like a malignant illness? I'm guessing when it actually comes out, it will be available from download sites for cheaper. At least after not too long.

Ooo, a group play-through with a slightly off-beat non-English developer game. We always have the most fun with those. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Who has the courage to email the devs & propose that we are an extraordinary opportunity for the company? Here we are, awaiting their game – cost free beta group that is a) highly educated, 2) grammatically correct, and 3) careful spellers (anyone else keep a second browser window open with a dictionary site while posting here?) with 4) an above average ability to express ourselves.

In return, we would make a major effort to refer to characters by their rightfully given names. Otherwise, our comments, reactions & approach must remain unrestricted & unfettered. [Image Can Not Be Found]

edit: was I unclear? of course we would get the game free. asap.

If we have to refer to the characters by their correct names, I'm out! [Image Can Not Be Found]

Since it was your idea, you write and ask them. Or convince Steerpike to do it – in return for not dragging his depressed, dirt/grime-phobic butt to Vietnam.

*edit: it's probably a good thing the FFC forums are no more. Can you see the dev's faces reading about The Fifth Disciple's Eleanor or NWN's Hordes of the Underpants and Shadows of Underwear?

Oh, and I don't keep a 2nd browser window open for the dictionary site, but I am guilty of having Word open to check my spelling and use its limited thesaurus. Okay, I'll admit, I do sometimes use the online thesaurs.

But wouldn't it be a good reality check for developers to know what really happens to their carefully crafted characters and names?

Toger, I think you may be mistaken about the NWN expansions. Wasn't the second one Whores of the Underpants?

Yes, as I posted my comment I was imagining devs' reactions to comments like those written by Eleanor's fan club. Precisely why my conditions were: "we will make a major effort" to use dev-given names. In my book, major effort in no way guarantees certainty of outcome.

Idea: Jasper joins the group; jasper emails the devs. [Image Can Not Be Found]

It wounds me that you describe my butt as dirt/grime "phobic."

I am dirt/grime opposed. My phobias only include spiders and vacuum cleaners. And garbage disposals. And hand loss. I have nightmares about losing my hands. Beyond that, I fear nothing!

Except bears. And alligators. Because they can eat you.

And Toger and Jen, because those two are tough cookies. They could totally take me.

But when it comes to dirt and grime, heck, you should look at my kitchen. It's my opposition to these things that prevents me from cleaning it.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Never fear, Steer, I ain't gonna drag you to Vietnam. Airfare is too expensive to waste on a Reluctant.

Nearly 15 years later, memories of the most grueling month of my life (in Uzbekistan) have faded...almost enough...to consider Mother Russia. Except Moscow interests me not at all. Steaming along the Black Sea coast, stopping at smaller cities does. Mid-sized land-locked cities, yes. But no Irkutsk. [Image Can Not Be Found]

How about that trip, interested? [Image Can Not Be Found] Suggestions?
