I'm copying and pasting this straight from an email I received, so sorry if it gets botched:

Community Tournament: Claiming the Fjords

fjordssm.png

Community Ambassadors Morbie and ATeddyBear are organizing a tournament! The Claiming the Fjords Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 9th at 2pm EST and, as you might have suspected, be played on the Northern Fjords map. Signups are open now!

For more info, visit the forum thread here, or go here to sign up with your crew. If you're interested in streaming the event, you can also contact Morbie or ATeddyBear directly on the forum.

Muse will be providing prizes for the winners, so sign up with a crew or a full team and compete for prizes, glory, and the title of Lord of the Fjords!

We already have 4 known sky folk around the community, if there are 4 more of you playing in secret, or who would perhaps like to learn to play Guns of Icarus Online, this will probably be a blast. I think the last game I competitively played in a tournament was Ghost Recon or Raven Shield, so it's been a while obviously. Would love to join this if there are any takers!

If we can get some more training time in by then, I'd definitely be game.

Agreed, some more training couldn't hurt. Unless our ship crashes and we all burn to death...I guess that would hurt.

Well, scheduling is a pretty monumental task with other humans so ... do any of you know some non-human crew we could adopt? Truly though, a decent time might be the same time of day and week that the actual festivities of this tournament take place.. i.e. the weekend, late morning/early afternoon for the North Ameri(buc)can(eer)s, which translates to mid-to-late afternoon or early evening for Captain Gregg.

That sounds like a plan to me. Sometime over the weekend then? Saturday? Sunday? I'm fine on whatever day's best for everyone else. And I'm the captain? Oh god. Brace yourselves.

I have some family visiting this weekend, so one of those days - probably Saturday - won't work for me. But I should be pretty flexible.

I wonder if there's some sort of online game scheduling plugin we could put on the site...

Even with such a system in place I'd hardly trust all of us moonshine guzzling silo folk to keep to it!

I wish Jarrod hung around the site more often like he used to. Then we could coordinate across 24 time zones, not just ten.

How about Meho? He's at least four or five away from Gregg. MEEEEEEEEEEHOOOOOOOO!!!!

I mentioned this tournament to Lewis and he said he wants to watch us playing so suggested recording a video. Could be fun and I know xtal and Steerpike have experience with this. I'd be happy to record some as well, might be fun to record from several positions and splice it together. I would need to do some testing when we play this weekend though to make sure everything's working.

I'm guessing Sunday would be the best day for all of us?

Per the email I sent you gentlemen, Sunday will be the day that I am more likely to have good attendance, but don't let that stop you from taking to the skies on Saturday.

I can certainly do some recording, that would be jolly good fun.
