I'd promised myself a few weeks ago that I wouldn't switch to the newest version of Windows until I finished Dragon Age.  Just my luck, I actually played through it (and the expansion) twice.  First game in which I've done that since probably Anachronox.  And I don't remember if I did that one twice because of the bugs or not.  So maybe it's actually the first game I played twice since Thief!  Whoa!

Anyhow, so as of tomorrow I'm making the switch, lord help me.  I've already got it set up on another drive, so I'm gonna see how it goes.  Gulp.

But Dragon Age, well, I saw in it much of what I'd seen in NWN 1/2 and the various BG games.  So it's not particularly original, but definitely refined a lot.  Which of course is terrific praise.  Anyhow here goes nothing.  My first game will be Fallout 3.  We'll see how long I stick with that, as I haven't even finished Oblivion.

I'd love to try Red Dead Redemption, but I've never gotten used to those stinkin' controllers, so I suppose I'll be waiting for a pc version.  Ok I'm stalling.  Time to make the switch.

Hi Ernest.  I started Fallout 3 last December and finished the 5th and last add-on about a week ago.  I think a couple other Tap-ers have recent F3 experience as well.  If you want to talk about your experience just start a thread in Bollocks.  I loved the game.  It was my 1st RPG after many years as an adventure-only gamer.  I'm finishing up Portal now, and then will probably start Half-Life 2.

As for Windows, good luck with that.  I'm primarily a Mac user, but have XP Pro on a partition for games.  I'm thrilled that Steam is now doing Mac.  Everything just seems to run better, and prettier, on Mac.  I'm in no hurry to move to Windows 7, and long ago decided to skip over Vista.

Windows 7 is actually good. It's stable, it runs everything I've ever installed on it, old and new, and it's pretty. I don't think you'll be displeased, once you get used to the differences.
