Scout, I have a whole slew of Heroes now but haven't done too much fighting yet. By hoarding my plats, selling everything & limping through between-game missions wearing +35 armor, at lvl 16 I just bought 4/5 armor with +60. [Image Can Not Be Found]
In order to do so I tried farming for cloth & linen (unsuccessfully I might add). In one area of Corsairs + poison inducing skales/bugs my team managed to achieve -60% health with all our deaths/rezzes. Since everything we killed remained dead, I was loathe to give up before I killed every last corsair (who dropped cloth/linen). Often we managed to kill less than one enemy before we were all killed. My healer was so permanently depleted she stayed dead, unable to rez even herself. All the while I thought of Jasper who woulda been proud of us.
In this game, I tend to spend more time worrying about weapon quality than armor. Lucky for me that the heros' armor levels up automagically. Scout, you CAN add insignia and runes to hero armor, as well as to hero weapons.
It's not good when your healer is face down in the dirt--I always very much object to that when playing Marble the mini-monk. What area were you in? I always hate to see the Frigid Skale coming bounding along. [Image Can Not Be Found]
I am only slowly remembering this game. I have my ranger pretty iron clad but danged if I can remember how I did it. I have runes all over Mann Ray. I need to start beefing up Jin and Donkoro too. Having Heroes makes me regret not playing more characters other than my ranger. I now have all the classes at my command but really don't know how to play them. I spend a lot of time standing in the back and watching how the Mesmer or the Necro or the Assassin play. Trying to see through all the flashing light casters throw off. Anyway.
I decided I wanted to buy Mark of Rodgort, yet another burning skill and so off to Copperhammer Mines I go. Back to Tyria, in the Shiverpeaks. Soon enough I run into Stone Summits, those little suckers on their elephants with Giant Stomp. I gave up and went back to the outpost. I need to load up on interrupt skills and blast away instead of trying to do damage. I really hate how those things swarm in such huge packs of level 24 monsters. Earth AOE is really a bear to fight.
I'm working a lot these days...you may have noticed the lack of content on the home page from yours truly...but still squeeze in a Factions run when I can. Thanks for starting this thread. Restarting the thread. Odd to think it's been almost 4 years since playing this game. Makes me miss the long lost Finkbug.
I feel like all thumbs with this game. It's such a technical game yet I am still drawn back to it over and over.
