Metroid light with a decent if not as clever as it thinks story. Quite forgiving as exploration platformers go [good!]. Fair bit of combat but killing most anything gets you a heal. Took me a while to warm to the game but I've been steadily upping my rating.

I'm playing it on Kongregrate but it may be available elsewhere. I've also been playing Tyrant there in a faction (guild), which is a collectible card game and another slow burn on my opinion of. Real money can be spent to gather cards quickly but I am most definitely skipping that. Takes a bit "gear up" but there are trick decks which can be made early for success. It uses real time as a limiting factor so I dip in while on the phone or clipping my toenails or eating the delightful Korean tacos from the newly opened Gigo two buildings from my front door.

Installed the free-to-play Spiral Knights via Steam. Not tried it yet and all my instincts scream awful but it's by Three Rings, makers of Puzzle Pirates, which is a great game based on the worst imaginable premise: superdeformed cutesy pirate all puzzle MMO. Gonna give it a whirl. Anyone want to come with?

Puzzle Pirates is ultimately limited but it takes quite a while to hit the wall where it becomes dress up collection. It nailed large multiplayer Tetris co-op/competitive as an action puzzle (one of many) which in itself is a real accomplishment. Underrated game.
