Aiieeee. This is unwelcome. I will attempt to block it.

Since the ads draw in something like one tenth of my allowance when I was eleven, I may just pull them all entirely.

My hope was to bring in some ducats to help make the site self-sustaining, but so far that hasn't happened. In my frenzied attack against the Fat Chicks ad I accidentally pulled the Amazon linky, which I'd like to keep; I also need to set up one for GoGamer. Other than that they can all go for all I care.

They're sort of a pain anyway. After what I went through trying to get those god damned Evony ads blocked I feel like I deserve a medal.

Had I seen that No Fat Chicks ad I would have howled too.  What few ads I do see don't bother me.  I would love for TR to make more than a few ducats to pay its way – and if ever so slightly raise the GHI (gross household income) of the TR gods.  Shoot, I'd be willing to add a few of those ducats to the pot if TR had, let's say, a PayPal account.  Easy-peasy.  That way even those who might not have reason to click on the ads (aside from the sole intention of giving TR about $.000001) could contribute.

Edit:  Steerpike, I know I'm a bit older than you, and prices do rise, but when I was 11 my weekly allowance was 50¢.  I sure hope you were doing better than that when you were 11, 'cause if not, that would mean that TR only "earns" slightly better than 5¢ @ week.  (And when I was 14 I got a whopping $2.50, but then a McDonalds burger, fries and coke was not much more than $1, and a 45RPM was $.99 at Sears.)

The No Fat Chicks ad seems to be the product of some asshole bumper sticker type of vendor, who's unfortunately tied into Google shops, making them difficult to block. Had I seen it before Jen I too would have howled.

As for a PayPal account, no way. Much like Jen before us, Lipid and I will not solicit or accept donations to keep the site going. It is a labor of love, and constant Toger-wrangling. If someone wants to help us, the best way to do it is not through money, but to seed mentions of us on other gaming/entertainment blog comments, forums, and the like. I'm not very good at doing this myself, because it can quickly grow into a full-time job and I've got one of those, but I welcome any assistance on that front. 🙂

Greater minds than yours have tried Toger-wrangling to no avail. Apparently, it simply cannot be done.

I can't imaging that Toger-wrangling is any easier than Spike-wrangling, as my ex and kids will attest.  To paraphrase one of the greats:  Do not go gently into that old age.
