I don't know why the "Silent Generation" is silent, and I was confused about the "G.I. Generation" I thought it meant "gastrointestinal" generation, but no, it refers to the Greatest Generation. What would we call those 95 and up? The Zimmer Frame Generation?
It's clear that we here at TAP are doing more than our part to keep those numbers up. iPad, anyone?

I feel old and my crankiness justified. I've got one from the list unless a tag sale NES or the never unboxed MP3 player bought for but never given to Aud count.
Have you ever thought about staplers? I have <shaking hand holding one up> five staplers and I don't remember the last time I stapled anything. I have this beautiful heavy stapler I got during the war but do I use it? And this one, it is convenient and light and made of new-fangled plastic but I don't use it either. Who staples? People send me staplers, which is nice, but I don't need them and they may be bombs or poison.

Does anyone here watch True Blood? Whenever I picture Finkbug and his stories I think of that cook who works at Merlot's bar and suffers bouts of PTSD. A sweet, crazy, funny man who would be satisfied giving out hugs and advice for a living.
And I mean that as a compliment, by the way [Image Can Not Be Found]

Given my age -66- I am (just) part of the Silent Generation. So I have nothing to say about this except my father's favorite phrase: bull shit.
Having said that, isn't this interesting. At least, I find it interesting.

I'm 1/2 a notch below you in generation. If anyone called me "old" or "silent" to my face I wouldn't only quote your father, I'd also give said person a swift boot in the...something or other. (If I had boots. I hate boots, and haven't had a pair in 15 years, and only then for snow shoveling which I don't have to do anymore, there being not enough snow to shovel here. But I digress.)

Lafayette?
…
LOWL
(oh btw I had no desire to watch any more of True Blood after the first series but I thought Lafayette was the best character in it)

Which war, Finky, which war? [Image Can Not Be Found]
I love my staplers. Never underestimate the utility of a stapler when no other weapon is to hand. A few heavy-duty staples to the forehead will slow down many a ne'er-do-well.
