I just got a PS3 version of Oblivion, and I'm playing through it again.  There's a lot more here to Oblivion than I remember, and it's the GotY version, so I get Shivering Isles as well (which I haven't played).

Incidentally, that's why I haven't been posting as much as usual [Image Can Not Be Found]

I've heard in numerous places that the co-op should be enjoyed after the single player. Don't trust Armand. I wouldn't.

Ok, finished the main quest line in Oblivion, and I'll wander through there again after a little break.

In the meantime, I'm playing Phatasy Star Universe.  Admittedly, I haven't played many JRPGs before.  I wouldn't exactly call it an RPG - it's pretty linear, you don't get to make choices even in conversation, and it seems to be a 'closed' world - despite having a levelling system.

One thing that I thought was surprising cool was that it is done in chapters, and at the start of each chapter there's an opener, just like if you were watching a TV series or cartoon series.  I love me some cartoons, especially the 80's saturday morning cartoons, and this took me back to that age, and was a nice little emotive surprise.

Have any of you guys played PSU?  What did you think of it?

Tapping my foot while awaiting delivery of L.A. Noire. I hate waiting.

LA Noir does look good. I saw it compared to the first Mafia, one of my favorites. Love the time period, old cars and LA.

We just finished Uncharted 2. Great fun. Will be starting Demon's Souls next. I'm also working my way through Prince of Persia slowly.

Spent an hour with LA Noire last night: my police pay is sure to be docked based on the damage I've done with my squad car due to my drunk-while-asleep driving skills. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I've not gotten far in that hour (most of it was spent trying to get a handle on my driving skills... or lack thereof) but I was amazed at how the mo-cap for climbing stairs was spot on. None of that weird gliding you normally see in games.

If the world doesn't end, as promised, tomorrow, I'll play more over the weekend.

OMG, Toger, those fools have actually paid money for subway advertising, I saw one about their family radio, or whatever it is, a week or so ago. Sad sad sad.

I knew I wouldn't be able to dive head first into it this week, so I'm going to pick up L.A. Noire next weekend when I get back from vacationing in sunny Florida.

I skimmed an article this week about those idiots.  The article talked about how many, many millions of dollars they've collected since they made their Armageddon prediction...last year, was it?

But I keep wondering:  if they, as true-believers, will be sucked up in the rapture, what the hell do they need so much money for??  Won't their reward come in heaven, and in the form of salvation, not bucks??

I'm pretty sure St Peter demands cash for getting in through the Pearly Gates. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Well heck, Toger.  I should have known that...a heavenly toll booth.  I guess the history of religion has many precedents for that, doesn't it?  Induglences, etc.

Xtal, I just realized… your vacation! There isn't going to be a next week! That totally blows.

I'm a fucking saint, so it's straight off to heaven tomorrow for me. But some of you guys are probably meek… can I ask a favor? Once I get raptured off to heaven to be with the angels and God and stuff, would one of you come get my cat and take care of her during the Tribulation? I guess animals don't go to heaven (she doesn't like to travel anyway) and I want to make sure she's looked after once I'm playing polo with Jesus. Her name is Ozzie:

She will probably bite you when you first approach but eventually she'll get used to her new mommy or daddy. Thank you!

Also: why am I not surprised that the actual end of the world came before George RR Martin managed to publish another fucking book?

I'll take her. I've always been a sucker for black cats.  My 2 females would like someone new to torture, er, play with.  I hope she can run and jump and likes catnip.

On the other hand, just take her to your bank and have her added as a signatory on your accounts.  She will take it from there.

She's probably already hacked into Steerpike's bank account and bought cat toys right under his nose.

edit: just to add to the original topic: put in some more time with LA Noire and have decided that the protagonist is somewhat of a jerk. He also needs to get the stick outta his ass.

Still in Portal 2's easy to figure levels. GLaDOS just informed me I'm horrible. Currently thinking about laser re-direction. Must *both* hit the thingie to make something happen besides a whirring noise when thingie hit by only one? Laser #2 keeps missing a direct hit by only [so] much as the cube seems to be in the way. Obviously, my strategy is flawed.

Oh great, we get to do it again. One would think if you were performing calculations with the utmost delicacy required for the Second Coming you would chose to, I don't know, maybe get it right the first time? Check your units? Number of significant digits? [Image Can Not Be Found]

So let me see. Eternal hellfire constant * Number of Angels / ((1 – sum of missed sabbath days) * invocations of Christ's name in vain) times 3.28 gives… June 4 at 9:00am. GMT. We going to go public with this? We could campaign for some funds, get a TV or something for the silo?

Edit: Actually, Camping  may have been on to something. Although... maybe there was a bit of static on the line... something... Hell... freezing...

2K Games and Gearbox Software announce that development is complete on Duke Nukem Forever, saying it is in duplication for release, something that seemed likely never to happen at various times since the announcement of the first-person shooter sequel in the last millennium. The game is due in internationally on June 10 except for North America, where it will be released on June 14. A playable demo is due a week from Friday, to be first released for those who have preordered the game or who own the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition.

I just finished playing Sissy's Magical Ponycorn Adventure, a game made by a five year old girl (and her dad). It's very short and I would strongly recommend everyone try it. It will force you to grin throughout the whole thing!
