Is too adorable for words. Playing the demo this past weekend made me say "squeeee!" out loud and clap my hands in joy.
The Tiny Bang Story, developed by Colibri Games in Russia, is set on the
fictitious world of the Tiny Planet. When an asteroid hit the planet,
its fragile world broke into pieces. Players will now have to recover
its lost beauty and help the population of the Tiny Planet. Along their
way through five chapters, they will solve numerous puzzles and fix
imaginative machines in a classic point & click environment.
The artwork is reminiscent of Machinarium while gameplay is sorta-kinda like Drawn - point n' click puzzling with hidden object thrown in... but hidden object that makes sense. Not just mindless clicking of objects in a room crammed with assorted junk.
It's available on Steam, GamersGate and The Adventure Shop (on sale).
I must answer its siren call.

Yeah, I was a few seconds from buying it when I first saw it appear on Steam but wanted to hold off for a demo. Steam's demo link was broken. If it's there now I'll definitely check it out.
I'm still kind of skeptical, only because it doesn't look like you actually do anything in this game. A hands on experience will be helpful. Definitely looks inspired by Machinarium, too.
On a semi-related note, speaking of demos, anyone interested in Capsized, I urge you to try the demo before making a hasty purchase. It has a very effective trailer with some excellent, pounding ambient music (listen to the whole of it here, by the way) which can really just make you want to click that 'purchase' button. But again: try demo. Game weird. Don't take another's word for it.
If being wrong's a crime I'm serving forever
I italicized Capsized (< that's a mouthful) but not Machnarium, so don't pay attention to what I do, Gregg. I'm the pants. Is that what you'd say on your silly island? Is the pants a good thing, or a bad thing, or either?
Generally I'm thankful that most people wear pants; that includes myself. Gosh I have bulky, pasty white, hairy legs. Downright ugly.
If being wrong's a crime I'm serving forever
Not only is it proper grammar to italicize, I also think it's a sign of respect. But some days it just seems like SO much work to italicize. When there is gaming to be done, clicking a couple of extra buttons in a post is time wasted. Let's all assume we know what the correct thing to do is, and get on with more important matters. [Image Can Not Be Found] I myself am just grateful that we Tappers don't do much "IMHO" and IIRC", etc. So you see, we are already more literate than your average gaming site.
"…you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake."
xtal it goes like this:
Bollocks = bad
The bollocks = good
The dog's bollocks = even better
Shit = bad
The shit = good
The dog's shit = we don't say this
Pants = bad
The pants = we don't say this
The dog's pants = we don't say this, but we ought to. It would be a bit like 'the bees knees' only involving dogs. And pants.
Gregg: I love you.
Also, I'm in agreement with Spike that some days it's just too time consuming. Like fucking hell I'm going to type out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. all the time… typing that alone took longer than the rest of these two sentences.
Another topic of contention: Queen's English versus Americanized English ... why can't we standardi(z/s)e? One thing I will conceed to the yankees is this: I think most words look better without the added "u" jammed in. Still confusing why Canada uses Queen's, yet also uses Zs. We are like some kind of middle ground loser.
"Too bloody pants to live in Britain? Not mad enough to endure the States? Come to Canada, where revenge is a dish best served at room temperature!"
I prefer honor over honour
favorite over favourite
but I do think I prefer colour to color
And the timeless battle of S versus Z (I call it Zed, not Zee, as do the Brits I think)
I was for a long time on the side of Z but I think the point where I turned a corner was when I saw My Bloody Valentine in concert and they closed out with a blisteringly insane version of their already epic concert closer, You Made Me Realise. Seriously though. They had people on staff to hand out earplugs as you entered the venue. From then on I've appreciated the S.

And the price has dropped to a paltry $9.99.
You know, if I could somehow rein in my lack of impulse control, I might have saved myself $5. But Murphy's Law dictates that if I'd waited, the game would have disappeared forever before I got around to buying it. Oh wait, not everything operates like an Atlus game (who I dearly <3).
