Don't know if you've heard the news yet, but the latest chapter of the Elder Scrolls has been unveiled. Apparently the new game will be getting some face time at the Video Game Awards. Here's a link for a video I just watched. Hope this is not a hoax.

The video seems to be saying the game will be released on November 11, 2011. By the way, the narrator is Max Von Sydow. Nice replacement for Patrick Stewart.

Very interesting indeed, thanks for the link, Davo!

I'd heard rumors that Skyrim might be the setting of the next Elder Scrolls, but thought it unlikely because the Morrowind expansion pack Bloodmoon had so much Skyrim influence. Still, with modern graphics (presumably id's Tech 5) it will be interesting to see what they're able to do with the obligatory ice and snow effects.

No wonder they handed New Vegas off to Obsidian. If they're staggering major releases and plan to actually make that 11/11/11 target, they'd have had to go full bore on Elder V right away. I imagine this means we'll see Fallout 4 the following year.

Life is the misery we endure between disappointments.

Lovely, lovely news.  I will have to start planning some vacation time around then or something!

Thanks for the heads up. Pity they're going path of least resistance but expected it. A Bosmer, Khajiit, or Argonian game wouldn't sell as well.

Chimer would've been a bold choice, back in the gameworld's timeline to tell another angle on the Morrowind story.

Ooh!  Or to tell a story from a Deadra perspective!

I always fancied the Dunmer. Actually they could just reboot Morrowind and I would be happy.
