A while back Double Fine got a bucket of money from Kickstarter to make an old school adventure game. They are releasing updates in the from of very professionally made and often intriguing documentaries, basically letting a real film crew (Two Player Productions) record the process of developing a game. Shafer is surprisingly compelling on film. The guy could probably act if he put his mind to it. Anyway, here is the link below. I think it will work. I'm a contributor. Watch the updates in order if you're interested. They are long, like 20 minute little docs. Every time I get one, I get a little excited. It's a great look at how the creative process works in a studio setting, warts and all,  with a relatively benign guiding force.

Looks as though you gotta be a backer.

Argh. Too bad. The documentaries alone are worth the 25.00 I paid. Well let me see if You Tube has them.

Here is the first one on You Tube. I'll hunt the others down later.

You can watch that first one on the page you gave, sort of as an enticement.  It's a good idea since it's pretty enjoyable.

I'd love to watch these because I thought he was a natural in front of the camera as well. Keen to see how this project is going too.

Looks like Double Fine is keeping the rest of the episodes off You Tube so I'll respect their wishes  though I'm sure there are torrents out there with them. Considering the amount of work they put into these videos I'm thinking they will eventually be released to the public. Highly recommended viewing for anyone interested in how the collaborative creative process works.

Shafer is a natural story teller and it translates into his performances  in these videos. While the rest of the team seem to give it their best try, Shafer is by far the most interesting to watch.

Scout, any insider/backer updates on potential release time frame? Game's wikipedia page just says Q2 2013, and we're already there! The trailer was perfect, ambient and moody, and I'm quite excited to see what they've been able to do with the piles of money thrown at them.

For any unaware, the game was revealed as Broken Age a few weeks back, and looks very pretty.

In sad, semi-related shut-up-and-take-my-money news, lovable television show Futurama has once again been cancelled.

The saga of "Double Fine Adventure" is finally fulfilled today!

In what I would call my greatest bit of restraint ever, I have not only not played Act 1 through its first 15 months of existence, I didn't even cave and buy it on a Steam Sale. And at long last Act 2 is released today. I'm going to be buying the whole package on PS4 and enjoying it that way.

Miraculously, I've also avoided any and all story spoilers. Anyone else excited for this?!

I admit to being tempted by the Steam sale, but not enough to ignore my considerable backlog.  All those smarty-pants already-finished Bloodborne-ers just have all the fun.

Haha, yeah we do!

But you know as well as I do that "finishing Bloodborne" means that I'll just take maybe a two week break from it before I dive back in indefinitely.
