Glad you liked the Black Brotherhood.   I did also.

One more area of quests that you might want to look into before you finish are the Daedric quests.   I have done a few of them and some of them are a bit different.  The Mind of Madness is quite wacky.  Boethia's Calling and Ill Met by Moonlight both force you to make a moral decisions. A Daedra's Best Friend sends you on a quest with a dog. In Discerning the Transmundane, you have to harvest blood from various kind of characters like Orcs, High Elves, Falmers.    I am going to give them all a try before I finish up.

Other than these,  I have no other suggestions except I keep thinking that the civel way quest may be a path to pursue on the side of the Stormcloaks.

Steerpike

As a lifetime member of both the Animal Humane Sociery and SPCA,  I will do anything to avoid puppy abuse.   So I have bought these three games from Steam.  They all sound intriquing since brilliant writing is a gigantic plus with me.   As a nontechnical person, some of the technical bugs in games don't mean that much to me.   We will see.

So do not pummel puppies on my account.

Fair enough. I couldn't pummel a puppy anyway, puppies are adorable. Still, I hope you enjoy those titles - they're all fantastic.

Kay, I've done a bunch of Daedric quests and did enjoy them; I just recently completed Boethiah's Calling and the Mehrunes Dagon quest ("Pieces of the Past", I think?), and I liked those for the most part because they involved minimal spelunking. I did not like the Meridia quest (where you receive the greatsword Dawnbreaker), but I'm not sure if that counts as a Daedric one. I liked another one that involved some kind of Alice in Wonderland tea party-like ending; I forget the Daedra involved, but he was the prince of something or other...might have been the one who loves mingling in mortal affairs and getting drunk but I forget his name.

So I am on the look out for more of those. I got married to some dark elf guy, which is totally pointless ... marriage has to be the biggest let down in Skyrim. I can't have any sort of special conversations with the person, or really say anything of interest. The second our ceremony ended he strolled out of the temple and went back to work in his stupid meadery. Piece of shit. They put absolutely zero creativity into that aspect. It should be something that opens new doors depending on who your partner is, instead it's just fluff.

This may be considered blasphemy, but I think Bethesda should hand off development of the next Elder Scrolls game to Obsidian. Or at least co-develop it. I mean, Obsidian can't add more bugs can they? Well, probably, but whatever. I've seen enough from Obsidian to know that they're experts in one-uppery. So we'd have like, 25% more bugs, but the game would be 400% less boring all around.

At this point I think Skyrim would be better if the Dragonborn was a mysterious, mute character who didn't bother talking to people. It would be like the first half of Wall-E, expanded into 150+ hours.

Finally wrapped up the Thieves Guild quest line. Not bad, but I enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood's quite a bit more.

Toying with the mages college in Winterhold, but I might go back to the main story line soon. 178 hrs in on my Redguard. Still haven't finished the game proper once.

Finally completed the main quest line of Skyrim a few days ago! I should have done it long ago since you get some pretty useful shouts deeper into it, that I can now use for the rest of my questing. I went back to my original character to finish the main quest for some reason - my Wood Elf - finished at level 28; the final battle was surprisingly easy.

Off to the Mages College.

I have been thinking of going back to Skryim. Dark Souls utterly crushed my gaming spirit, destroyed every last atom of gaming goodness built up over a decade. I haven't been able to look at a character creation screen in months. Lately I've been considering therapy. It was like kryptonite or something.... Fuck that game with a rusty fence post wrapped in barbed wire. Just my humble opinion.

But if you are finding this game too easy try one of the mods like Dangerous Dragons or whatever it's called. It makes every dragon fight a boss fight. Had me screaming and running around in circles.

Seriously, I'm going back to low combat, high narrative gaming. Maybe start replaying all my old adventure games I made burns of before selling.

I wouldn't want the combat in Skyrim any more (artificially) difficult, only because it's very wooden. It's still a leap beyond Oblivion and Morrowind, but Bethesda need to try a bit harder on TES VI. Speaking of Dark Souls (I'm sure I speak for all of us who recommended it when I say I'm quite sad and sorry that you didn't get along with the game - but at least you tried) I couldn't help but think at various times, imagine a game with the scope and world of Skyrim, but with the satisfying combat of Dark Souls.
