I don't see any way to move Amanda to a new cave. The sheepherder is mad at me and Amanda has nothing more to say.

I found a few gems and used them to enchant some of my armor and my best sword.

Yes, and Amanda said the color was wrong for it to be hers. What was the dialogue you overheard as you entered the cave? Sounded like someone was putting drops of something somewhere. It's a mystery. I think Amanda is guilty.

On the dev forum, I found some help. The subject was misspelled, so never looked at it. Going back to catch the cuprit.

Done. Moving Amanda to the Sanctum.

Has anyone done the "Giant seagulls stole my wine!" quest at the harbor in Erothin? I'm made it up the cliff to the foot of the tower only to find yet another locked door. I have also found some sort of tower interior full of bitching lightening bolt shooting bats but can't get to the stairs that lead to the top plus there is no way out but to reload. There is also some guy standing halfway up the cliff.

Pokey, the message you think you missed wasn't much....sounded like Amanda's snipping & pruning her plants although the first npc I met was a SpiderWoman & I thought, "whoa! this spider talks?" But really, it was Amanda way down the cave.

I went back & forth after finding the poison, finally decided before I saved/exited & came here, what the heck I'd go tell V-Mage what had happened so far and then continue searching.  huh? She took it all in stride, said oh well, the farmer is poisoning his sheep....here's a reward, want another quest before I leave forever? I took the quest, went off to Gilliad to start the quest & crap! nobody has a word to say, my quest log is still back at finding poison in barn, who did it? no mention of V-Mage's new quest.

I saved, reloaded but it's way back before asking Amanda if the poison is hers. Much more interested in what you did cause I sure don't have any way to move Amanda if the Sanctum's Head Lady thinks I've completed the quest (half-assed, to be sure).

What did you do? Who else fits into the plot? How do I get the ball rolling? [Image Can Not Be Found]

I did the same thing you did at first. But I felt something was missing. I'm surprised the quest did not end.

I went back to the first time I met Amanda and repeated till the farmer told me to go search the cave. It is hard to find, but it is there. Jump on the bed and go back in the corner. Once you have the poison, talk to Amanda again.

Thanks! I stood in her little living area examining the boxy wooden structure that looks like an "outhouse" wondering why she put it next to her bed? [Image Can Not Be Found] I'm going back right now & find what she hid. A shame, she's one of the few npcs who have been civil to me. Must admit, while standing there I *did* take every last bit of her food so I could level my alchemy.

EDIT: All is well in the land of the sheep & Mandy's moving to the grotto. Thanks, Pokey for not being satisfied with leaving well enough alone.

Hope the next quest works too. I found Marianne, actually I stumbled over her, but when I fought the creatures and was ready to get my reward, my game crashed. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Will try again. I did kill one of those armored crabs for the first time.

Done....What do I do with a Rune Fireball rank III? I clicked on it but nothing happened. I picked up a nice bow.

I have some rank III runes but I don't think you can use them till you are Magic III yourself.

I just kept going back and forth between the two suspects in Moon Sheep and finally got Amanda to confess once I had the poison and won't stop questioning her. Sorry, I didn't get what you guys were asking I guess.

The Nehrim Predatory Bird quest is killing me. I found one reference to moving boxes and a box puzzle but I don't have a clue. It's the quest out past the old harbor in Erothin in case anyone is up for a little pain. You do get to shoot bats with fireballs though. I can't exit this quest either. I see the way out but my character is just invisibly blocked on some stairs.

Scout, in lookng through the quest help subforum on SureAI to see if anything struck my fancy, I noticed one about a "Firey Bird." Fiery Bird? Is that the killer bird(s) you're facing? Something in thread about a potion? You can fly? Jump high with it? I am sure a damn lot of help.  As I wasn't there, I didn't read. Suggest you bypass me & check out the forum if it sounds like where you are.

I found one rank III rune, the fireball  which won't do anything I'm assuming until I am that level. However one gets there. And is informed enough to know that they have. Last night my left corner messages borked yet again leaving me clueless about a lot.

In other tangential news, I have been eagerly awaiting Two Worlds II as I was a deep lover of seriously silly Two Worlds. Alas, with an original  release date of Oct 5, the game was delayed....then really delayed. Out in EU Oct. 22, but publisher for US, UK, Australia (I think) has decided to wait until less games are released (post December) in early 2011! [Image Can Not Be Found]

However, today's GoGamer special has a preorder for the (I) imported edition at $10 off, shipped as soon as they get it. Without hesitation, I ordered.  I figure ArcaniA & Fallout:Vegas will be easy to find, Two World II looked like a lost cause. Happy, happy me.

It was the potion after all. I tried that early on but maybe it wasn't working or I wasn't using Acrobatics right but finally got it to work.

Now I'm getting screen freezes again constantly. I've tried all the fixes listed here and have read elsewhere.

Are you in the Dark Forest casting spells? (yes, of course you're casting) Maybe the screen freezes are framerates of 0? Again, I haven't paid attention enough to comprehend as I'm not there yet but that is expected. Solution is to turn off ….something. View distance? Sliders down to nothing in settings?

Then again, are your "screen freezes" total computer/mouse freezes like mine? That is not a dev predicted Dark Forest problem. [Image Can Not Be Found]

For years players have complained about Oblivion quicksaves corrupting. I quicksave like crazy as an emergency backup. However, I never load one when I start a game. Do you?

Last suggestion: delete your oblivion.ini in the Oblivion folder where the saves are (c:don't know, haven't learned win7 paths yet). It says Oblivion but it's really your Nehrim ini with Nehrim settings. For some players, that file gets corrupted. It helped my crashes to delete mine, then start launcher* & create another by redoing my settings.

*(except I must start game w/ obse launcher so I do Nehrim launcher when I need to alter settings, quit, start game for real w/ obse launcher).

Yes, mouse and keyboard freezes. I never use quick save to load unless I'm desperate. Sometimes it's a fireball that does it. Other times it's when I go through a door or load an area. I don't notice it happening as much from a graphics load on the computer though I get low frames in the forest of course. I just had two fireball mines go off in my face and the computer didn't even burp so there is no reall pattern.

I C/A/D out and most of the time I have to do that twice before my mouse frees up. I've turned almost everything on and off and on again though I not organized enought to write down what I do. This is supposed to be a game, not work!  [Image Can Not Be Found] It happens whether I use the launcher or a menu screen…on and on. Then suddenly I'll play for a couple of hours perfectly fine. I haven't played around opitmizing the .ini file yet.

Where is the Dark Forest? Is that a place or just the woods in general?

...and here *I* am after c/a/d-ing out of my locked screen/mouse game. Mine happened after resting as it sometimes does.

You know, every time I load an area like going through a door, I hold my breath waiting for a crash. Oblivion taught me that behavior. Maybe Nehrim's crashes are partially genetic, inherited from Oblivion.

Never fiddled with your ini ?!?!?! (doesn't that sound creepy? [Image Can Not Be Found]) I am forever twiddling & tweaking, perhaps due to not understanding what some settings mean in terms of what do they actually *do*. Plus I rarely write down what I've changed which makes learning consequences even more difficult.

I looked on the map, Dark Forest is a general area kind of SE from the Abby area, I'm assuming woods. Although I just opened a gate to a new BEWARE! of Magic! area that looks like a dark mysterious forest. I'm looking for what's-her-face, the missing daughter. NW of the basket could be anywhere up to the map's edges. Pokey, got any hints for me? [Image Can Not Be Found]

Yapette, you need to cross the river. I swam across but there is an easier way. Look for a rustic bridge and then some large painted stones. It isn't far. I was surprised when I found her.

I've been loading from quick saves all the time with no problem. The freezes and crashes have eased at the moment. Maybe it depends on the area. I am at the Vault of Iselas. I did have a problem—my light spell stopped working for a while in the dungeon.

I hardly ever get a crash. Maybe twice. It's the screen freeze that is my nemesis. I read that Bethedsa support was blaming RealTek audio drivers and audio in general and suggested removing some of Nehrim's music files.

South and east, huh? I've been up north and west a lot. It's sort of like alpine terrain, high up and sparsely treed. I'm working my way back south, hitting mines and cleaning up quests and leveling. I've got my blade, light armor and destruction all over 50 which has been my goal these last few days. Right now my armor and damage resistance in general is my weak spot. The fireballs are becoming more dependable than my two-handed sword. I could use a better sword and better armor than the mithril light I'm using. i'm at level 13.

Finished the vault quest. Cedric was tough and took a while to kill him. Collected the treasures later, some better armor. I think I'm level 10.

I haven't had a freeze or crash during the whole Iselas quest and then back to the Sanctum and cleared out the crypt. I call the Microsoft error—black screen and message often on opening the door– a crash. It is easy to get out of. I'll see what happens when I travel to the north.

Have I lost my mind? Completely? Scout, take heed! Do not listen to me, ever! Dark Forest? How about 180 degrees from where I said. It's on the other side of the mountain range to the West of the mine where we started. Making it NW from the Abby.

Just finished the infected mine, the one we find by following the tracks from Gilliad. This place goes forever. So interesting & varied compared to boringly repetitious Oblivion dungeons. I was silently congratulating the devs for their level design as I descended. Tough Boss at the end who killed me many times till I hit him with —> ~ tgm  ([Image Can Not Be Found])

Then I went to the cabin outside where I might find a key that would have helped me greatly in the mine I already cleared. Hit a spider w/ two fireballs & locked my screen. Pokey, I haven't gotten a black screen + message once. Mine are total locks until I open task manager & close the non-running Oblivion. Which can be difficult as my mouse is also frozen.

At level 14 I got level III Magic. The fireball at that level is impressive. I'm pumping up intelligence and buying destruction with learning points.  I killed Cedric in two blasts from the top of the stairs all way across that big room and had another left to go. Stupidly I went into the Islea Vault with a nearly full inventory. I am going to have to go back and pick up all the armor and weapons. I never did find the note at the beginning of this this so I'll look for that when I go back.

Just got a big crash tonight and about 5 screen freezes. I'm wearing my savegame key out.

I think I'll run the fireball spell to the max before I do any thing else. Just for fun.

Scout, you had an easier time with Cedric than I did. I was running back through the ruins to get a bit more magika. I am in the Steel Rail Mine now and having a similar problem with the acolytes. Doing some running and sneak attacks.
