I figured out how to get into Erothin and walked right by the cemetary and guess who was there? Just at the right time. So I got the key to his house, but now I am chasing a thief. I am not fast enough to catch him so will have to think of something.

Made it to the thieves den and got more training in blade and light armor.

Pokey did you have trouble getting past the goblins just before the theives den? This was where I couldn't get out of the quest because of the bugged nag screen.

No, I didn't. except that I was surprised and died the first time. I pulled out my big two hander and went at it the next time. No problem. Didn't even need healing. Now I need to find a way out since I noticed I couldn't go back the way I came in.

I was too puny I guess. I only had a little longsword and crappy armor. I would bagged it and come back later but for the bug.

Huh. I walked out of there the way I came in. Are you sure you can't get out? This is the sewer entrance from the Erothin 'backyard" right?

I'm doing a bunch of bounty quests to level up a bit before I head off with Kim for a Main Quest jaunt. Loving my fireball. It actually works. Also I am finally getting around to cooking up all the ingrediants I have.

You're right. I went back to where I stood originally looking for a way out and the stairs blend into the wall. I thought I was trapped. Did you help the woman who lost her key? It looked like it was going to be expensive, but when I tried, I couldn't buy the rune. I've had a few problems buying magic items.

Guess I'll explore the town a bit. I can't wait to get a fireball that works. I am still magic level 1.

Tried out being a mage but went back to Paladin.

I'm in front of the Boss Bandit's door for the third reload.

#1 – B.B. died hidden behind some stairs but he had no weapon. W.T.F.?

Reload

#2 – Thor fell a couple of times but apparently he can't die. Then he got up & ran away from the fort, off down the path w/ B.B. in hot pursuit. I was in third place, until B.B. turned & chased me back into the cabin. Where he killed me.

Reload

#3 – I'm afraid to face what happens this time.

I'm making potions now – requires 4 pieces of chemisty equipment & at least 2 ingredients with the same effect. No table necessary.

Scout, you said we get a bed? No one at the Sanctum has offered me nuthin'….'cept work.

Pokey, I *think* based on nothing but hunch that the magical runes we find are upping our spell level. I have found 9 or 10, what about you?

About the personal suite at the Sanctum. I was misinformed by a lying NPC. Also, don't go to Casalanca for the water. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Yapette, I haven't found any runes yet. The only one I have is the one from the General at Arcane Sanctum. Where do you find them? Are you fighting bandits at Ledur?

Erothin is huge and there seem to be areas I can't get to. Time to head out for more action.

Later---more action than I need. I am with Melvin doing the Stone Golems quest and going crazy trying to switch between spells and weapons and I have to listen to Melvin's long speech each time.

I seems to me that the runes give you magic spells. Click on one and it gives you the associated spell in your spell inventory.

Yapette, I found that Arcane Stone you mentioned several pages back in the "secluded fishing cabin" outside Giliad along the river. Inside, through a Very Easy locked door, on top of a crate.

Also there is a quest, the Moon Sheep one where if it ends correctly you can get three free Moon plant potions a day from Amanda, an alchemist in the grotto at the Sanctum. These potions cure disease the same as the Mandrake plant. The grotto entrance is either in the basement of the Shadow Mage buildng, where the Liche was, or through a trap door in a small valley to the immediate right just after you cross the bridge to enter the Sanctum. Amanda originally is in a cave elsewhere near a sheep herder but with your help moves to the Sanctum and gives you potions as a reward.

Umm, I guess not runes….magic "symbols?" Those glowy rune-like symbols found on walls/boxes/things that you click & the game tallies another one. Those, Pokey.

Also, found two Runes that give me the spell to heal others. So far, I care more about healing myself – f*ck others, I can't spare the mana. (sorry, Magicka).

That group of Roman Gypsies…oh, sorry….Ren's Mystic Elf-Mod Magic-using Pointy Eared A-Race by the road to the Sanctum? Group with the dancing girl sexily gyrating? Female merchant sells 7 arcane stones.

I bleed for a manual. Guide. FAQ.

That said, Nehrim is about my perfect, most fun, best choice of all kind of game: fantasy, first person, big world, quest-driven & gorgeous. Plus a difficulty slider.

Youse guys are leaving me in the dust. On the other hand, your posts act as guides & faqs. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I think a have 3 or 4 of those magic symbols. Glad to hear they are worth something.

Heading back to the Stone Golems. I'd rather fight bandits any day than fumble with all the spells and weapons needed to destroy the golems. I wonder how many there are.  [Image Can Not Be Found]

Later–success with the golems. Melvin left me stranded, but I am near the castle, so will head up to Ledur and the My Roots quest.

My game crashed there with the Microsoft error. Getting quite a few of those even with autosave turned off.

The bandit camp quest—does someone in the castle give the quest?

Finished the roots quest. Lots of loot in the castle. Is there another fence besides the one in Erothin?

Pokey, there is a proclamation on the bounty board. Read it, talk to the queen and then guy by the tents out front with the big axe. He'll trigger the quest and you fight with him against a bandit camp.

A merchant at Erothin in the area at the docks, Galf's something or another Galf, has teleport and arcane stones and level III fireball and flash heal runes.

I haven't run into another fence yet though I think there are more in other cities.

I got the key for the bath house woman in the backyard. I did it two different ways. First I accidently fell *through* the grate, picked up the key and teleported to the Sanctum and ran back. I reloaded and used the telekinesis rune to get the spell to fish it out the second time. The payoff is not bad. I couldn't get my character to fall through the grate again so I don't know if it was a glitch or an alternate path. This whole backyard area is very buggy for me. Lots of crashes too.

Out of curiosity, just where (N, NW, E, NE…) is this big city of which you both speak? At rate I'm progressing it may be weeks before I get there. With my printed, unmarked map and your directions (no need to go into details that become tedious for you) I might be able to spot it.

I'm feeling very drawn & quartered at the moment. Torn between finding my roots, generic questing (bounties, etc), ambling down roads and Sanctum chores.

Yapette, Erothin is directly north of either Giliad or Castle Stonefield. Continue till you reach the big penisula. There are a couple ways to enter the city. I took the hard one. If you look at your map when you arrive, you can see where I went.

Scout, I talked to the queen but got nothing from her. I'll look for that proclamation. Meanwhile, I'll grab all her loot.

Oh wow, Pokey, thanks! I though it might be on the far west coast (cluster of many roads).

Pokey, you're a baddie? A robber? I never would have expected that of you. [Image Can Not Be Found] I am always goodie-two-shoes mainly cause I'm too nervous to sneak, always afraid I'll get caught. And red-handed icons in my inventory make me nervous someone will see (sense) them.

That said, rob the b*tch blind! She is an egotistical, prejudiced snot!

I haven't bothered to steal before, but she has such nice things. I can make a bundle, though not sure what percentage the fence gives. No one in the room, so should be no danger. I'll store it in my chest till I travel to Erothin. There is a grotto north of the castle I need to check out.

I finally found my secure chest in Erothin. It's in the merchant plaza, directly across from Alma's Alchemy shop and near to the armor shop which makes it handy for offing looted armor and weapons and potion supply.

I'm starting to steal in an ever widending circle around the Erothin fence. I need to hit the queen and all those arty farty types in the Sanctum. It's almost too easy to steal in this game. It's so unpopulated with people and so thick with clutter.

I ran into a roadside ambush and the bandits chased me for forever while I ran and healed up. I decided to soften them up with a fireball, figuring it might slow them down and it killed them both in a single shot. That is what I call satisfaction. [Image Can Not Be Found]

I finally got a mortar and pestle and am making potions. I read a good tip on SureAI, the dev's forum, about raiding farmer's fields for 50 ingrediants at a time for mass producing potions.Hopefully the crops will grow back but it would be cool to see the farmer's starve from my theft. I'm talking immersion here folks, not random cruelty.

Also, do merchants really have a buying cap? I see gold amounts but I go way over it sometimes while selling and watch as my amount just keeps rising. Am I missing something here?

Pokey, you have to read the proclamation first. I talked to the queen first too and she just blew me off. Ms. Personality, that girl.

Yes, I found the chest rather quickly since I came into the city via the harbor. The fence is handy there, so it would be a good area to pilfer goods. I am currently trying to kill the bandit boss. He is tough. A lot of loot when I succeed. Then I'll probably hit Erothin for the loot and the fence. I have an appointment back at the sanctum, but too much loot to ignore.

Scout, German? No. The map came from a forum. I speak enough to get by on a trip to Germany, but English for me.

Excellent tip about farmers' fields. Wondered what farmers were for in the game. Besides talking ugly to me. I will be happy to strip their fields.

Just major crashed & locked my computer. I noticed the game was getting "foggy" (misty + gray skies) after just a short while of playing (usually in Oblivion, that meant my system was struggling). Is there fog in the game? This afternoon I swapped out my case for one with 3 case fans & lots more room for airflow. Seems to have accomplished fat nothing. [Image Can Not Be Found]
