Yap, I played Oblivion on the 360. And you're right, I'm not much for modding when I play on PC. It's way too much work.

I've only been to Vegas once - I don't drink or gamble either - so I spent the day going through all the hotels to check out their gaudy decor (the only one I didn't see was the Venetian). We did the now defunct Star Trek attraction and rode the monorail. I have to say that the view from the top of Paris' Eiffel Tower was spectacular. And we were entertained by Bellagio's water display.

I just finished the Temple of Tyrat. When I headed back to Arantheal, I thought I might get back to Erothin, but we headed off to another location in Arkwend. Am I going to be able to get back to the original map to explore some more or am I tied up in the end game? There are some areas like the crater that I haven't explored yet.

You're not exactly at the end game yet, Pokey… and yeah you will be able to go back the main game world. I finished that section you're talking about and still have more main quest to go.

I think I might have closed upwards of about 40 or 50 or even 60 Oblivion gates believe it or not. I was having a 2 month long bad mood and closing a  couple of gates  an evening turned out to be the perfect therapy. Mindlessly repetitive demon slaying in the same maze was just the thing for it. I did use the stay invisible trick a lot inside the gates. I also had the 100% Chameleon Armor and some very butch weapons, I must confess so that helped. Eventually I took off a couple peices of armor just to make things interesting. And eventually I grew bored with it. But I loved it while it lasted.

Help?

I'm down at the locked portal door in the Temple ruin - Kim scared me so much when he turned up unexpectedly that I shot him w/ a fireball [Image Can Not Be Found] but luckily he's so good natured he didn't take offense. How do we summon Callisto? I am casting the Call Companions spell...surely we don't have to trudge all the way out to the front door before we can call forth the Old Sneak (Callisto)? Can't we summon him at the locked portal?

He should just show up. I cast the call companinon spell at the same place. A screen came up immediately and said that "After a wait, Callisto arrives." Maybe the game is making  you wait longer or something.

I found the Victim Hood right where you said it would be Yapette. I had saved the night before about 50 feet from the entrance to the place. Still looking for the Mage house...

Thanks, Scout. I was about to go back to an old save, fearing that I wouldn't have the chance to explore more.

Later…we defeated Malphas and now are after Tyr. Malphas was a chore. Are you sure we will get back?

I am lugging around all this loot. Wish I had a place to put it. I shouldn't have picked up those busts. I hardly have time to pick up any good stuff with all the running around.

Edit...I haven't had much problem solving the puzzles, but I am stumped now...

I am looking for Tyr and am at the place where there are several torch scrolls. I lit the two fires and see a box at the base of the structure here, but can't figure out what is needed.

Pokey,

when u light all fires, think its 4, 2+2 , ull see light beam or something connecting bridge to the tower and walk up to it...Tyr and Arantiel mother will be there....and a moral choice[Image Can Not Be Found]

Pokey,

Hit each basket with a fire scroll. There are two at each location, 4 all together to get the light beam.

You'll get back to the main area. I don't know if  you can return to the area you are at now or not. The path I took took me back to Erothin.

Thanks to both of you.

I did find the other fires and am now back in Erothin. I hope things went as I intended. The dialogue does get a bit confusing at times.

Sigh. Have 2 ingredients, can't get over to where the 3rd is in the priests' (?) apartments. Have no sneaking skills nor invisibility spell/pots. Keep getting caught by guards or stopped by locked doors (although I have opened one w/ a key). And my sense of direction is total suck in these corriders. There must be a trick I am missing. I have a pretty high sneak but I had to use an invisibility potion. I think I managed to get to the apartment once, but I couldn't get back out without the spell. Will the mark spell work inside? Maybe you could teleport out and get some potions, though I don't know if there are any you could buy, or maybe there are some in the building. You think that they may have supplied some. Maybe someone else has  an idea.

I made it to the apt. & got the ingredients. Crawled quickly with speed. My sneak lvl is....9! [Image Can Not Be Found]

From what you wrote, the way out is back near the apts? If so, oh woe. I went down into the cellar from the kitchen & saved...so it's going to be back into the corriders again? [Image Can Not Be Found]

I thought of going all the way back out the tunnel, back to monastery to buy an invisibility spell & leveling up whatever it takes to cast it. I will try Mark/Recall if I decide to do that. Doubt I have the motivation to do all that though.

If you made it to the kitchen with all the ingredients, then you won't need to sneak any more. Don't you go through the cellar?

Hi cirisse,

If you highlight that quest and look at the local map you can see the red marker on the right side of the screen.

You have to sneak past a guard to get to the apartments. And then sneak back.

Oops. Just saw Toni's post. What he said.

Does it ever stop raining near the Crater? It has been three days and still a raging thunderstorm. Maybe it is a cursed area. I think I will take a side trip up to investigate my castle, which I have never visited. Hope the weather up there is better.

Can I get by the big rock blocking my path in the Crypt of Eltridor at the Crater?

Yes, Toni, by some miracle I picked up the shoes. When wandering around in circles trying to find hotspots in the bedroom, shoes just happened to be where I was mousing. Total accident as finding the apt. & ingredients were such a pain that I'd forgotten about looking for shoes. [Image Can Not Be Found]

That whale stomach part was awful & seemed so unlike anything else in the game. Deliriously happy to reach sunshine again (exhausted at 1 am my time).

Welcome Cirissie. I used sneak & went veeerrrry slowly. And reloaded. A lot.

Be sure & read the note on the desk in the apt.

My castle is looking quite nice. Not very big, but it has a statue of me at the entrance. There is also a teleport located inside.

The weather has finally cleared at the Crater. A few more sites to explore here.
